I get calls day and night, all I hear is a man (sometimes a woman) saying "hello, hello?" in what appears to be an eastern accent. That's it, nothing else on my machine.

I have gotten three calls this morning, about 20 mins apart..no message left

This number keeps calling me, no messages ever left. sometimes it shows up as a number from Vietnam. ( +84 4 5053328 ) since February they have called me 7 times or more.

It's a medical bill debt collection service.  Not judging but you probably missed a doctor bill in the mail.  But, if they call you as often as your post suggests, it is a blatant violation of the FDCPA (Fair debt collection practice act). Some law offices advertise to stop collectors and promise awards of $1500 PER CALL in violation of the fdcpa, which i think is anything more than 1 call per day.

Scam. From overseas. They call constantly also. Be careful guys

This number called, trying to mask its actual id, which is a scam medical collection service. Fair debt collection practice act is easy to follow and couple with the F.C.R.A (Fair Credit Reporting Act) you quickly realize this number is in violation of both and if this calls you file a complaint to the F.T.C. and do not answer.

You can only file a complaint on them calling numerous times and speaking to a live person leaving a message more than once a day...
Receiving a message on vm isn't a live person..
I'm assuming they are working on a dialed system.. Which generates the calls and when a collector becomes available the call gets flipped to them... So them replying with a Hello? Hello? Is only confirming a live person is on the line to speak with.. If you answer.. They've made contact.. If your answering machine answers.. They've not made contact..

I'm a lawyer in 4 states and you are allowed to file a complaint with F.T.C. for more than one call a day VIA (EMPHASIS ADDED) under Federal Law (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) Section 806.

Fair Debt Collection Practices Act Section 806 CITES:

"(5) Causing a telephone to ring or engaging any person in telephone conversation repeatedly or continuously with intent to annoy, abuse, or harass any person at the called number."

Calling multiple times a day is a clear violation and you should report that to F.T.C. they have complaint section at link I provided above. Also I cited a Legal Case against this company that the lawyers has obtained CLASS ACTION status, THEREFORE you call contact those lawyers to discuss them harassing you and maybe even join these lawyers lawsuit.

Several Law firms around country have joined in. You as a individual being harassed by these phone calls have a right to join the class action law suit against this place.

Best thing do not answer when they call, and report call to F.T.C. or lawyers in this case. Most phones has built in apps for F.T.C. complaints already, making filing a F.T.C. complaint that much easier.

I don't think it is a bill collector. I got a call from this number and I DO NOT owe any bills other than the monthly usual utilities etc.....

844 is a new toll free exchange and the only way to incur long distance charges is to dial 011 before the number....

Yeah, I think it's ironic if you call them back, it says they're encountering computer problems and to call them back in a few minutes.....

Keep getting calls from this number. They state it is an important matter and when I ask what it's in reference to they don't answer and I hang up.
