The 844# is a toll free number to reach Chase DIsputes and/or Escalations.  #654 is a routing code for the callers respective building, and #3171 is their actual extension (both 654 ad 3171 will be different, depending on who at Chase is calling).  Chase does not explain the seven digit extension, unless you ask.  My biggest problem is that often, Chase does not leave messages when they call me

Fraudulent number. They left me a message about a credit limit increase I did not request. Called Chase. It is a phishing scam

1-844-540-8023 left me a message from Chase Bank.  I called the costumer phone # on the back of my card.  They told me that Chase had left me a message.  So the # is not a scam.

what if you have 4 cards with chase-exactly which number from which card should you call?  I smell scam

This number is a scam, if chase calls you they will say "we are call in regards to your account ending in ****"

This is a scam. Do NOT give these people information or call them back. I refused to give them information. Then I called Chase using the phone number on the back of my card. They could not identify this number or the person who claimed to be with Chase. When in doubt, immediately hang up and do NOT give them information. Call your bank directly.

I got a message from this number, different 7 digit extension, said it was about a recent inquiry I'd made. I have not made any inquiries, so am highly suspect. Will call the number on the back of one of my cards and see what the company says. I never give my information to anyone that calls me, or that calls me and has me call them back.
