they call me all the time from different numbers pretending to be computer techs from Windows and need to fix my computer.   It is a hoax

They called me only a few minutes after calling me from another number 607-529-9985 which caller ID says is McDonalds. I can tell they are the same people because they behave the same, and the computerized voice that says "Goodbye".

When I answer, they dont say anything. They just wait about 20 seconds and hang up.

They just called me also and when I answered they just sit there.

Dead air - just silence...I think they are trying number to see if they actually are active.

A "Pattrick" has been calling our office blowing up our phones from all sorts of numbers claiming to be a legal department regarding a fraudulant activity of one of our employees.  Googled the other numbers and found out it's a scam. They insist you've taken out a cash advance loan with them.  Not sure exactly what the scam is but maybe they're hoping you release your social security number to them so that they can scam you out of your identify, etc. Don't fall for it!

says that i've been choosen to be given grant money..and that i will be getting the form after new years...is this real?

I just got a call from them.  Had to ask twice who they were with, couldn't make out the name, awful accent. Finally got they were from Microsoft Windows and it was showing I was having problems with me computer.  I told them no they weren't and I know a scam when I hear one and hung up.  Hopefully they don't phone back

Also called me at 8am, answered but no one there.  Glad these postings were here for me.  What should I do when they call again?

Donnie, Buy yourself a whistle, & blow it in the earpiece!! I did & it seems to stop them from calling back for a day or two(probably made 'em tone deaf!!)! I do it all the time when I have someone say "Hello? May I speak to ...?"

I'm in the same boat no matter what, so my brother suggested a whistle and also airhorn. I've CURSED at these scammers, I've called them scammers I've said they will be reported as I'm on the DNCL, called the cops they were no help after I *57 . The cop said they don't do anything for that. Since I didn't get the number.. the run around I think dispatch just wanted to get rid of me.
I've been complaining to DNCL for a long time nothing is done. SO now they will LISTEN CLEARLY DO NOT CALL!
cause playing around with them, yelling and cursing doesn't work I've had it!...
I had several calls this month ALONE ( as usual). SO it will take a few days to get them to call again.

...IF you havent gotten to this point do what another did is order them then blow them off ( also noting the # on the van etc), IF on the DNCL, that might help. To trace the company.. also google dateline duct scam .. they dont use the same MO but the scammers gotta be the same. THESE ARE SCAMMERS bc any one whos a customer service person would be FIRED for cursing or merely yelling at a "customer". these guys come back for more all the time. nothing phases them. I thought we were done when my husband played w them that made them hang up but they called right back.

Also found out they ask for CASH ONLY. I try to get their number but usually fakes even so far to have an extra digit.
What makes these ppl think I will buy into the scam? I don't want ppl bothering me for several yrs now becoming a wonderful company to do work I need done, WTF! are there ppl out there actually buying into it.. ITs the same company calling me all the time "Air Duct Cleaning Services" (always different numbers IF you can get the number, usually say in the GTA) but they also have a few other names they go by and always call several scammers of different types over a couple of days.. YA too convient dontcha think?

Yep, they called me with the same "pitch" and I told him I have a Mac and the phone went ---click...

Harassment continue phone call after phone call…. McDonalds

Called today, mentioned something about selling media or something in my area tomorrow and asked if I'd be home from 1-4.  I decided to just end it quickly being this is an extremely dubious thing to be asking and I wanted to just shut them up.  I mentioned "I'm not interested" and hung up.

When I first answered the phone, the woman at the other end kept repeating 'Hello!?' and it seemed as if she couldn't hear me very well.

Called ID said Mcdonalds.

If they call again I will be very unhappy.

I have received at least 4 calls from the same man this afternoon from different phone numbers, one of the calls was from this phone number-- another was from a phone number in Florida, and another in NY. He had a very thick Indian accent & asked for "Katrina Lincoln." When I told him that there was no one here by that name, he told me that he was going to report my phone number. I asked him what he was going to report & he said that he was going to report that "company would not give phone to employee." He told me that his name was James Taylor & that he was with "Financial Crimes Department." I googled this while on the phone with him & told him that there was no company with that name, he said that he was with "Legal Finance Association." I ended the call asking him to not call back that there was no "Katrina Lincoln" at this number. About a minute later, he called me back and said in a very deep voice "I LOVE to harass you", "I LOVE to harass you!" Very creepy!

Also calling after midnight... a bunch of crap... how do you stop them... they have called several times!!!

Wanted to fix my problem with windows, had a very bad accent just laughed and hung up. No calls back yet.

They called me today, when I asked where they are calling from they hung up. My number is unlisted too.

I received a call today,my phone number is unlisted. I don't know how they got the phone number but they state there is a problem with a virus in my software. I asked where they are calling from they hung up.

Got a call two days ago from a number caller id showed as boulder, co. Male with foreign accent said he was from Microsoft windows and wanted control of my computer to fix problem with someone spying in my computer. I hung up they immediately called back from a number that said payphone When I confronted them they stuck to the same story I hung up again. Yesterday another pay phone number called I didn't answer. Just got one today from 845-469-9827 identified on caller ID as McDonalds. Told my husband they were calling because of error messages they were getting from our computer. He told them we didn't have a computer then they hung up. When you try to call the number back you get no answer. This is a SCAM do not give out any information to these people.

Phone display says the call is from Chester, NY.  Answered but caller didn't say anything.
