The number called my cell, left no message, twice.

why can't we find out who this is ?

I got a call, no message left. I tried calling back. It said something like, no one at this association is available to take your call, leave your name and number and we'll get back to you. As if!!

I keep getting the same call from this number. They don't leave a message.

Called three days in a row at exactly the same time... 5:30 pm.
I suspect it it some sort of robot caller.
I answered once and no body there.
Can't even report them as it shows up as "Illinois call"

I too have received several calls over the past few days from this number and today I finally answered.  The woman said she was from "Woman to Woman Breast Cancer Foundation" and she was looking for a donation.  

Because I have never heard of this organization I was skeptical about donating.  In addition she happened to call my work line - and I was busy.  So I asked her to send information.  Of course they cannot.  She directed me to their website www.w2wbcf.org and again asked if I would donate.  I told her I was skeptical and would not do so until I've done my research and she practially hung up on me.  

Really now, if a ligit not for profit is cold calling for donations I hardly think they'd hang up on the very people that they're asking for donations.  

I checked the website I listed above and while it does appear credible, the phone call was highly suspicious.

I received a call about a week ago and a woman asked to speak to Susan.  I take great
offense to someone getting ready to solicit me to call me by my first name.  I told her I
did not speak with anyone unless they identify their company or organization & if it is
selling something, I hang up.  This particular time the woman presented herself as a
rep for Woman2Woman Breast Cancer Foundation and asked me for a donation and
that they would send me the pledge to send back in my donation .  I said ok just to
see what I would get in the mail.  When I received their brochure and pledge slip, I
immediately became very leary.  Their disclaimer plainly states that they are not
affiliated with the majority of the breast cancer foundations that I am aware and trust
in.

I am personally very upset because my mother died of breast cancer and it sickens
me that anyone would want to solicit for research under false pretenses.  They also
asked me to include an extra $1.00 to help defray fundraising costs.

Please do not respond to this company and do not send them a dime!!  I, too,
tried to call 2 different phone #'s provided and only got a recorded message.

Believe me when I say this foundation is fraud, I been there, don't give them nothing, they collect the money for personal gain, they don't really helping nobody.

I was tricked-I thought I was donating to the American Breast Cancer Foundation.....please be aware they are not associated in any way......................

I agree with SDean about the envelope and information sent to me by this organization.  They caught me on a day that I answered the phone from an unidentified number.  They have 3 levels of contributions.  I picked the smallest amount (Level 3).  I received the information in the mail and I honestly forgot it - UNTIL I received another invoice.  That is when I decided I needed to research this organization.  It supposedly doesn't receive more than $25,000 in donations per year since they do not file the Form 990.  They hire a telesales company named Courtesy Call, Inc. to make the fund raising calls.  I don't remember her mentioning on the phone call that the call was being made by another company.

When I did more research, I really couldn't find any concrete statements of use for the funds.  They state the funds could be used for this...and that....  One website said that the funds were for African-American Women with breast cancer.  So, with all this contridictory information, I don't think it is quite on the up and up.  No money from me today.

I received phone call from the same number on July 28th and just received the information.  I got reading the back of the brochure and things didn't sound quite right so i decided to research them.  True everything looks official and above board but when you get reading all the fine print, things don't add up.  They aren't affiliated with any other cancer foundation, the donations can be used for a variety of things that don't make sense.

I agree with SDean in that my Mom had breast cancer and Ican't believe how far some people will go.  This is disgusting.  I hate to say this but I think I have given to them before.  I received something like this last year and I need to go check my receipt to see if it is the same company.

I too asked them to send me information. I read the back of their brochure and it says...Your support is very much appreciated; a large portion of the gross proceeds raised goes to defray the cost of this appeal.  I am not sending them a penny

I read the back of the pledge form they sent, and realized it is a scam.

I received a call from someone who said she represented Woman to Woman.  I listened carefully and she made a lot of sense to me.
Number one, she made it clear that my donation would not go for research - that so much had already been sent to different organizations for that.
Number two, she said her organization had been formed to help those who already had cancer, to get well - that it hit people who had no insurance and those who had spent all they had and  needed help to get to treatment centers and to assure that they could get the treatment after they got there.  So many are being turned down.
Number three, she said she would work with my support group to start a program, managed by us to see to the people in our area who needed help.
When I told her I could not donate, she continued to give me the information I asked for.
Is the American Cancer Society a scam-they have not done what they have said they would do- and so many millions have been donated - do they want a cure?  They certainly have not given help to my area.

Report them, I did.  I'm tired of them calling. They also call from 202-870-5152.

I work for the company that solicits donations for the Woman to Woman Breast Cancer Foundation, the Breast cancer Relief foundation, and the Caring for Our Children Foundation..I am the telemarketer that you hang up on. (I would, too!)  We are never trying to be annoying, we get yelled at if we don't use our "rebuttals." We will actually lose our jobs if we're not getting at least $40.00 per hour in donations. We get yelled at if we don't keep cutting you off and continuing with our rebuttals or pitches.  When you tell us that you or someone you know has breast cancer, we are NOT ALLOWED to say "I'm sorry to hear that" or anything of the like. We are supposed to just continue with our pitches. WE DO CARE. WE DO ALWAYS WISH WE COULD SAY MORE.  I totally relate to you when you say you have NO money!  I am a 21 year old girl, completely on her own in a town where I know no one and this is my only source of income, and it is SCARY to know I could lose my job and be homeless at any time!

Anyway, I just wanted to put it out there that we are doing what we are told to do...we aren't trying to piss you off.  So please stop calling me a b**** or a motherf***** or any other names...i'm just doing as I am told and at least for most of us...I can speak on behalf of them that they would tell you the same thing. :/

My daughter worked part time at a telemarketing firm back in the mid 2000's, and this sounds like them "TELENET & ASSOCIATES INC." or "TAI" its a boiler room style call center in ELGIN ILLINOIS with another supposed location somewhere in ROSELLE ILLINOIS. Their main office number is "847-760-5001" ask for the owner directly to ensure you get taken off the call list. They hire scumbags and ex-criminals so they can pay them next to nothing, and my daughter felt very uncomfortable just being there. Needless to say she quit shortly after. She always mentioned $40 sold each hour worked in order to keep your job, that's why i'm near certain it's them calling on behalf of these charities.

i am so happy to read all of your messages on here.  When a woman called me asking for money i explained to her that i was really in a financial bind right now and she could go ahead and send me something in the mail or call me back in a couple of months.  And then i asked her that if it's true what she says that they are trying to help other women that doesn't have insurance and can't afford a mammogram get one.  i told her that i would like some info about that for my sister who doesn't have insurance and she gave me this website and i just found all of your comments on here saying they are a fraud!!!! I'm so upset with them, i hope this lady does call me back in a couple of months!!! thanks again for passing the word...
