repeated calls, "name unavailable"

Did not answer, no message left, quit on 3rd ring, so some other poor old sole answered, I guess. I just blocked this number, but of course will still ring. Someone needs to do something about all these unwanted called. I call them harassment. WHAT IS THE DO NOT CALL LIST DOING? NOTHING APPARENTLY. IF SO THESE CALLS WOULD NOT BE CONTINUING TO HARASS US INNOCENT CITIZENS OF THE GOOD OLD USA!

looked up area code, this is from the Dominican Republic. Didn't answer and won't in the future.

Multiple calls from this number.  Always hangs up after the 3rd ring.  Never leaves a message.  Just looking for a live number to harass more later on.  I agree with others, the national Do Not Call list is useless.  Come on congress, but some bit in this law!!!!!

Robo-call, asked me to press 1 if I was eligible for medicare, 2 if I was not or wanted to be removed from the list.   I pressed 2 and someone answered.   When I asked to be removed from her list, she said "sure" and hung up.

Left no message so assume it it a telemarketer.

For calls originating in the U.S. I think the Do Not Call Registry has been very effective.  It has stopped numerous scam callers.  There is already a large bite in this law.  If you are on the list and they call you (some places, like charities are exempt) then the fine is $1000 for each call.  Some people have kept track and actually sued them and won.  Whether or not they have gotten the money in all cases I don't know, but being sued gets them bad publicity and hurts their "business".

Called today at 10:40 a.m., NAME NOT FOUND on caller ID. When I dialed the number I got a message that the number is not in service!

Have you ever thought that 849-963-4863 is a scam for those who get sick of the phone ringing and go to complain like this and then you can pay to find out who is calling you from a number that appears on caller ID yet you can not call them back as the message says number no longer in service. So then their scam works if the piss you off enough and you then, not realizing they are the complaint service like this one, you in turn pay them to tell you some b.s. company name or whatever to get your money!!!!! Guess what....they are telemarketer scam artist and call the District Attorney until they get busted and can't call from jail. That is what I'm doing as my brother is a D.A so luckily I only make one call

Get real they are scammers call the District Attorney in your town and report the number today

I always check the caller ID and if I don't recognize the name or number, I don't pick up.  If someone starts talking and I do recognize them, I will interrupt and explain I screen my calls.  Everyone understands that.  And so my inbox won't fill up, I empty it everyday.  The important thing is not to pick up your phone!  If you do, that tells them that they've got a "live one."

Medicare scam call begins with "urgent message about Medicare" and goes on blah blah blah 'diabetes'.

You were smarter than me.  I was annoyed that pushing 2 didn't get me anything but a telemarketer, but I listened for a while before I said "This is ridiculous!" and hung up.
