It is some sort of a home finders or rent to own company. They have several ads on Craigslist in Nashville, TN.

They are advertising on craigslist in the San Francisco bay area also for "preforeclosure" houses that are "rent to own".  I used google images to search for the photos they listed in their ad for a $1395/mo house.  They are from remodeling sites and a million dollar home for sale.  By the time I went back to craigslist to flag the ad, it was already removed. Definitely something fishy and dishonest.

This group is working through an Australian domain, hiding the owners.
The scam is call, give credit card information, pay monthly fee for access to fictitious rentals.

Criags list is aware of the national flood of these adds, however, have thus far done nothing to systematically address it nationally.

Our local rental listing are almost useless because the scam listing out number actual rentals.

I went onto Craigslist to inquire about a property and spoke with a very rude and unprofessional man that hung up on me after I questioned the $199 registration fee. He informed me that it is refundable after 90 days...THIS APPEARS TO BE A SCAM, CLEARLY!

Rude people something is not right about this number.wont give you info all the pictures of homes are same.

I also responded to this ad on craigslist and gave the person on the other line my name phone number and address, the next day i received an alert from my credit monitoring system saying "Service Notification ".

It listed the address of a property in my city, Milwaukee. The Owner of the property was listed as Federal National Mortgage Association office located at 1 S Wacker Drive #1400, Chicago, IL 60606. The co-owner of the property was listed on the city assesors website as Blommer Peterman SC 165 Bishops Way  Brookfield, WI 53005 (262) 790-5719.
The person who I spoke to on the phone said her name was Erin and gave mer her phone  8552589449 when I googled the number it came back as a number from California. When I tried to reach "Erin" at this number it had a generic cell phone voice mail.
