credit card soliciting "Merchant Services, Inc."

I received a call from these scammers as well.
"Hi this is Jackie from Merchant Services calling to let you know about a rate increase in your area that might have been applied to your account". The woman's voice was slow and unsteady as if reading from a script without the benefit of strong reading skills.

This call was preceded by two calls with just beeps that may have been their phone call queueing program.

Hi my name is Noemi I also received a call from this number stating that he could lower my APR % for my merchant account, if I switched to merchant service inc. All he needed was a copy of my merchant statement. I called this company, they told me that they did not have anyone by the name of Taylor. This is the fax number he gave me 949-313-0987. I had to ask him for a number this is the number he gave me 855-270-7283. He sounded really shady....

Tammy from merchant services called and said we had a rate increase in our area when i started asking questions she hung up. she called again today and i said we only use 1 merchant service . when i asked her what company she worked for with merchant services she just kept saying im with merchant i was like what bank she said merchant services she game me her name and number and extention

I also received a call from this #, It was Laneda telling me that our rate had increased and that they would be withholding 25% of our funds to make sure we are compliant with the "boar" that Ken Davidson her supervisor would be coming in to our office to look over our statement with us and look over our papers to confirm we are compliant she just needed me to fax over a Merchant Statement to Fax# 949-313-0987 so that "Ken" could look over it before he came in to our office. I called our merchant services company and they told me they would never ask to do that and that i shouldn't trust anyone asking us to fax over a statement.

Got a message that Skip Olsen with Merchant Services was asking to speak with someone regarding a service he wishes to provide (apparently at no cost).  He stated that Visa and MasterCard adjust their fees twice a year and that the we may be paying for unnecessary fees.  He is offering to look at our statements and identify those fees and get the City any reimbursements due us.  His number is (855) 270-7283, ext. 7815.

I'm not even going to bother to return their call.  I'm sure they would like to look at my statement and merchant credit card number and all the cc numbers on it!

Got a message on our answering machine from Mary from Merchant Services regarding our Visa/Master Card fees/rate increases asking me to call her back at 855-270-7283 x 7992.  

Thanks to all who posted ahead of me - I will not be calling her back!  Would love to call and give them a piece of my mind, but realize they would probably just start calling me daily or some junk like that.

Got a call from 6265372185 and 8552707283 making it seem like they are my current credit card processor, requesting I fax statement/s so that they find a better deal on my rates as they are going up. The caller Jennifer. Sales call, ignore.

I have worked for this company for almost two years and it is a great company.  NOT SCAMMERS!  You don't know what you are talking about.  You should do your homework before writing something like this.

Got a call from Merchant Services wanting to help me lower my Rate on my merchant account.  Great people over there. Bryan at ext 7074 helped me out. The appt only took 10 min and they saved me 30% on my fee's .WOW I had no idea I was being so over charged. If you get the chance to deal with this company go for it! There is not many people like them in this world anymore.  Very Honest and Helpful company.

alessandro york asked us to call 855 270 7283 x7985, bet 7-345 to make an appt to go over our overcharges - of debits charged as credit cards. Make a 10 mon appt with isabel corona, the local district manager.
Their benefit: customer retention. But they service banks, and not us directly.
Scam or benefit?

How can I do my homework? Is there a website for this company? Is there a record of activity? We just need proof.

We service the merchant not the banks.
I personally have helped merchant save over 250,000 in the 2 yrs I've been here.

Skip Olsen aslo called my business. He is with MS and I did fax over my statement. I simply but black marker over my account number (not that they can do anything with the number anyway, its on every reciept we print out and give to customers).. I was able to save 30% on my processing. I am thankful for the call informing us of the increase. Obviously my current provder did'nt call to let me know or send me any warning..

This is Skip Olsen.  First of all, we actually do not charge for a rate review.  Secondly, Visa and Mastercard do raise their rates twice a year - once on April and again in October (once for each...).  Although it has been the policy of some billing companies to absorb these costs as a courtesy to their clients, many have stopped this practice due to the economy.

They are required by law to notify you in writing if they do discontinue this practice.  Many times, however, they either hide the message somewhere in the monthly statement, send out the notification under the quise of junk mail (so many people throw it out without looking at it), or just blatantly do not notify merchants at all. This is what I tried to discuss with you.

A large percentage of the time the client is with our representative at the time of the viewing of their statement.  Unless you see our rep furiously scribbling proprietary information down as he/she tries to carry on a conversation, I'd say you are grossly mistaken.

While I don't mind at all that you did not return my call I do take exception to your groundless claim that Merchant Services, Inc. would steal private information.  Merchant Services, Inc. would not be listed in Inc. 5000, neither would we have received awards year after year from the Better Business Bureau.  Neither would I associate my name - let alone my efforts - to an entity made up of theives.

The fact that your claim is purely speculative and has no basis in fact whatsoever, I wonder if you have the personal integrity to withdraw your fantasy post?  I won't speculate.  After all, it would be in bad taste to bear false witness against you - having never had the privilege of speaking to you...

This company has been reported and they better not EVER call me again!!! They try to get private information out of you. It's a scam!
