- hollyThey emailed my husband asking for employment verification. Message asks for the happy employee to call 855-350-5495. Said they are from IAG LLC. I looked it up and found a lot of fraudulent listings, similar to this site for phone look up. Sounds to be the same junk. :(
- Caller: IAG, LLC.
- JJ| 1 replyI got a very official sounding call from an individual who identified herself as Ms. Lopez. She left a message stating that she need his identification information. She also left a case number and indicated that she expected a return call from MMJ; or his lawyer. The problem is MMJ is my exhusband whom I divorced 22 years ago. I actually returned the call and was able to leave a message for Ms. Lopez. I believe the company is legitimate, my question is how did they get my number and not his current wife and why are they calling my home?
- Kelly replies to JJThe reason why they have your number and not his current wife's is because they do things known as skip tracing. A debtor takes out a loan, and then for whatever reason doesn't pay it back, either they ran into some hardship or just decided they never wanted to pay it. And sometimes these loans can be upwards of 6 years old! So of course their information may not be up to date, so they will use the information they have on the debtor, like their address or even their SSN which they are given in the file and run it through their skip tracing websites, a lot of times they aren't always up to date either or wrong in some weird way, like saying spouse instead of ex-spouse, or mother instead if mother-in-law. These are legitimate debts that folks owe, but when they are so old they have to turn up the heat if you will. Using words like case or docket are outright wrong, but things like file or refrence number are totally ok. Also if they say things like they WILL go after you, or you WILL be sued are not correct, but if their company does go after a certain amount of the debtors in court they can say that if the debtor refuses to pay or that they break any agreed arrangements then it can or may go forward for further proceedings.
- SarahThey are full of crap. I had my payments set up for a certain date every montha nd they only took out one payment. That wasn't my fault if I clearly told them to have it automatically coming out of my account every month...they dont want to listen they want to over talk you and hang up the phone in my face. I also told them to stop calling my work phone and they continued to call my work phone. That's a law sue within itsself. I work for a debt collection company and I was a collector for years so i know how it goes. they are full of it. Let them tell it my "CASE" is going to go to legal offices and they will sure me smh!! You can't pull that trick on me ol well they dont want the money that is fine with me.!
