I said I was on the No Call Registry. She said (after asking for me by name) that it did not apply to her. I told her that I did not care, that I had not asked her to call and did not want to be bothered by phone. If she wanted anything from me, she could send me a letter. I then hung up on her.

I believe charities are exempt from DNC?

In any event besides adding to the call block feature on some phones, I suggest the following:

Purchase a loud whistle and give the person at the other end an ear full!  If it is a robo call, at least you have the
satisfaction of having done something!

Called and left no message (imagine that).  Called ID said "PRIVATE HOME"

Listed as "Toll Free Caller". Did not leave message on answering machine. Charities and political organizations are exempt from no-call list.
