Got call from this number at 7:10 on a Sunday, no message.

Got a call at 7:10 EST on Sunday, July 10, 2011.  No one on the other end.  Called the number back - a recorded voice stated the number has not been activated.

Caller ID says aout of area - I'm in Florida. No message left.

Just received this call 7/20/2011 at 2:35pm.  The caller hung up.  I called back immediately and the message was that this number was not activated.

My number is on the No Call Registry - but I can't report it if I don't know who called or the nature of the call.

What's going on?

Seems to be a flood of phone calls from the 855 area code, it says toll free but no one talks. Strange. And I'm on the Do Not Call Registry.

20 July 2011 - caller identified himself as paid solicitor from some autism foundation.  (Received multiple calls from this number previously - I answered this one and that's what the caller said.)

Received a call at 6:25 pm EST on 20 July 2011. Like the others had mentioned, call back the number & it's not activated. I think this number should be published on the caller ID, the person could try to scam someone.

This is the Autism Foundation asking you to mail letters in your neighborhood.

Shows up on the ID as Unknown

Given what you've all written here, I simply blocked future calls. I don't need to speak to the autism group, although I respect what they're doing.  From what I understand, when non-profit groups hire telemarketers to solicit funds the company doing the calling ends up with most of the money.  No good.

Received call 9/28/11 @ 5:42 pm.  Not at home; no message left.  Number on Caller ID.  When call returned was told this number is on "hold and not yet activated".

Try blocking the call.  After they call, get a dial tone, hit *60, then follow the prompts .... it should say to block the call, enter #01#.  That should do the trick ....

This number comes up as toll free and I answered it.  There was a woman on the line who wanted to verify my phone number.....I told her I'm on the DO NOT CALL LIST and to take me off her list....She kept on talking and I said I'm not verifying anything.  Take me off your list and don't call me again.
