They called leaving me a message naming me as a defendant. I called back and they won't tell me why they are calling. Just say they will see me in court.

they will not stop calling me asking me for different people trying to make me know who they are calling for.

I just got a vm to, and they called me last week from another number 855-699-9749, im not calling back its obv a scam. Did they say name of  this fake company?

I have received two calls a few days apart from two different numbers saying the same.  First off you'd get something in writing at least one time if you have dealings as they claim from the vm.  No legit company is going to call up with a make such threats as they have calling you a defendant and you haven't been served papers of any kind even a letter from their "company" stating what their business is with you.  I went through this crap like a year ago and I filed several complaints as well as spoke with several people from the "company" that was calling me and the guy after knowing I had no business with them and they were not going to get money from me came out and told me that this list that my and millions of other names are on gets sold and it will not stop if your name got out there for what ever reason and from talking to the BBB it's fraud someone got my information but couldn't do much with it but now I am dealing with these fake companies thinking I will fall for it and pay up.  Just file a complaint I encourage you if we do this maybe we can make a difference and stop these people from trying to make a living off our hard earned money.

These guys, calling me a "defendant" and looking for me, are driving me nuts.  Multiple messages each week from different toll free numbers are not identifying themselves but refer me to a case number.  I'm not calling back.  It's annoying as all get-out, but I hope that in time they'll give up.  Thank goodness for call screening and voice mail!  Never answer a call unless a company identifies itself.

I'm sorry everyone is dealing with this crap but I'm also glad I'm not the only one! This has been going on with different scams for the past few years. Does anyone know how to make it stop?? They called my father's house (which adds to the stress and I haven't lived there in 11 years) and I'm really just sick and tired of this whole thing!! Help!!

Got the same recorded message as everyone else. Called back bc I've dealt with companies like this before and they've called my office leaving these messages in general mail boxes when I don't respond. I was being transferred to the person who called me and the line dropped. Called back and got voicemail.

They've called my house, my stepfather, and my friend. The only problem is that I had my name changed over two years ago and they're using my old name and naming me as a defendant. The two people they're saying that I put down as "references" or "contacts" for "legal purposes"? It's a joke, because I don't even have that type of relationship with my stepfather (we barely tolerate each other-he's the account holder for my mom's cell phone and I put her number down once when I lived in California back in 2009 and filled out an inquiry about a loan online, the same thing with my friend). I believe that's where they're getting the information. When you go online and fill out these "Win a free iPad" or trying to get a money advance online, or car loan information, etc. they're getting your information from there and then they call and harass you and tell you that you're being named as a defendant and people hear that and freak out and pay. It's ridiculous. I hope they catch them soon, because my stepfather is special and swears that the police are about to show up and arrest me (even though I haven't been served with any papers-HELLO! I haven't done anything wrong!) and I'm sure he's on the verge of paying these people if he gets called again.

At least 4 times a week I get the robo call for someone that I have NO idea who it is.  I have explained nicely, I have hung up, I have not picked up and I have "pressed 2 if I do not know this person".  Today was the last straw.  I called them and asked who they were or what business they represented. I was told that without my name they could not tell me.  Knowing I have no bills I am hiding from I told them.  When the dipwad on the other end said I was not in their system I informed him that I have been trying to tell them that for 8 MONTHS!!!!  I have no idea who the debtor is or where he is.  I was told my number would be removed and I would not be contacted again.  I made it very clear that if I am the next call would be to my state attorney general about harassment.  Per the gentleman on the phone they are a law office called McKenzie & Reed....Sounds more like a bill collector working on commission.

I received this message twice now...same as the others....this call is an attempt to locate a defendant !#$%%, if you know the location of this person or can contact them, please give them this case number !@#$%^.  I called the number and the call went to voice mail...a manly man answered and said this is the investigation division, please leave your name, phone number, and case number, and we will return your call as soon as possible.

I left my name and ph and case number...obviously they already had that info.... now I see this may be some kind of scam.... not sure what their goal is here.

SCAM....I have ask these people for info and they will not give it. I ask for the company (Cash Smart Advance) phone number they are claiming I had a loan from. They refuse to give it to me claiming they don’t want to speak to me. I ask them for the company email address, mailing address and they refuse to give to me. I also ask was the so call company they are claiming I got a loan from was license back in 2011 when they gave me the loan. In the state of California you must be license are therefore the loan is illegal. They can take you to court but they better be license. One of the males I was asking that info about he refuse to answer the question. He claim it’s continental. HaHaHa…
Also they stated they could not give me info but I could have my attorney call and they will give to him. I told him I dont need an attorney I can defend myself on this.
It’s crazy because we report these things but it never seem like the AG or DA is doing anything.

They called today  asking for my husbands ex wife...I gave them info...Karma.  

They continuously call me and today they called my dad and referred to a case number and had him freaking out.  After looking it up on here its good to know that this number along with all the other ones that call are scammers. I just wish they had some other things to do then messing with people. It is more annoying than anything.  I haven't called any one back and told my dad to do the same so they won't be scamming me.

Told my husband they were McKinsey and real estate. Scammers.

Something about an investigation. They are calling me a defendant. Sounds like a scam. This is crazy how people can get away with calling people this way. There should be a law against such harassment like this.

i dont know who is calling me but i am sick of this harrasment and i am seeking legal advice and counsel to settle what ever this is.

I received a call today telling me son was in very serious trouble and would end up in court, or even worse by tomorrow if he didn't call back. ??? If your such a great investigation Company why call my phone?!?! This was very alarming and scary. What complete disrespectful [***]!! This isn't even cool!!! Get a REAL job dick
