Got a letter in the mail indicating that I'd been awarded a new laptop/notebook computer with New Microsoft Software, and if I called within 72 hours, I'd also receive a $100 Dining Card.  I called, and it is Direct Buy.  I did call, and it is indeed a sales pitch (90 mins) at their warehouse.

Has anyone attended one of these?  Is it legit, or do I have to become a member to get the laptop?  The letter did say that I'd be responsible for shipping + an "activation fee" -- is that fee for the laptop, or the membership?

Recieved the letter in the mail for free laptop and dinner by calling this number. I checked out the number and found it was Direct Buy,
Because I have been through Direct Buys spill before. I will not waste my time. One thing I did find out from previous experience was not all Direct Buy's are equal. In that the membership fee is not the same at all Direct Buys. North Houston was $4500.00 while South Houston was a little more than half that. But they all offer the same thing, SAVINGS. If you join, I did ;>( you can go to any one of them and use their services.
