someone called my phone as well today from this number. they left a message saying they were going to have me arrested at work and garnish my wages.

Do NOT engage with these idiots - There are enough folks who have posted information regarding these scammers - Debt buyers who use harassing and threatening techniques in the hopes they can scare enough folks into sending them money - Remember - a legitimate company will not use these types of tactics AND anything that has to do with legal redress will come from the COURTS - not jack-wads like these folks - There appears to be a number of 'criminal' type individuals involved - a Jamie C - Justin Tata and William Scudder are names mentioned though these could be false - Record your calls - Send a note off to your state's AG and contact the one in NY and VA which is where these goons seem to be operating from.

These people have harassed me for months.  When they identify themselves they try to make it seem like they are your friend and are willing to help you.  I told them I did not know who they were. Then they threw some titles at me like Manager of claims and Vice president of a company that I could not understand and they would not repeat.  They told me I owed a payday loan and if I did not comply with their demands that a warrant would be issued to me at work and my wages would be garnished.  They gave the last four digits of my SSN (which was wrong), gave me a court date and if I did not cooperate I could lose my job.  I was laid off a month ago, have never had a payday loan and do not plan to ever get one.  They argued with me to the point that  I just hung up on them.  They called me right back and said that since they recorded me hanging up on them that a warrant was going to be served.  These people are liars and crooks and should be stopped.
