Keep getting calls from this number, pretty much every day. The caller ID says "800 service"

I've been getting calls from these people for a few days. Since it was an "855" number I just didn't answer because usually those are organizations asking for money or something. Finally I answered so I could get them to stop calling, and they asked for my parents by using my name. It was creepy.

We have been getting these calls at least 5-10 times every day.  I finally answered and they said "Is this XXX's parents?"  Youngish guy sounding all nice... until I said "what is this about?".  He got very nasty and said he has never called before and it is about XXX (my daughter).  I continued to ask what this was about, and he got SO nasty with me and hung up!  I hope that means he'll take me off of whatever scam list they are working!  Just wish I knew where they got our number and her name!  Outrageous!

They call 3 or 4 times a day.  They're selling SAT prep services and got our phone number from our daughter's PSAT form.  Eek!  I thought those numbers were only shared with colleges!

This company or whomever calls all day long. They just called asking for Mother F'ing insert my sons name. Real nice.  next time theyll get the air horn.

Yes, this number called my house. He asked for my parents. Said his name was Jim (but not saying what company he was from). I asked Jim who? he replied It doesn't matter what my last name is, wouldn't help you at all. I asked what he was calling about so i could inform them before answering but he became snippy with me saying are you the student? I said no and he said this is none of your business. He tried to ask for them again and added a couple more snippy comments and i hung up. This number calls all the time, i hope now that I've answered it will stop. Can't believe you can be rude to someone if you are trying to sell them something...

Calls every day and refuses to ID self when asked.  Aske for "parent of ..." my son's name!
How do they get this info?

This number has been calling my house daily. Finally answered today so I could ask to be put on their Do Not Call list. They wanted to speak to my daughter's parents. When asked who was calling he said he was calling from some test prep company. Then he started asking questions about my daughter (grade level, GPA, etc). When I told him I don't give out that info over the phone to unsolicited phone callers, he hung up.

I just had the exact same thing happen to me. I kept questioning who was calling and he refused to tell me who he was with, the only thing he would say is, is this Nathan's mother. I finally said, yes it is and I want to know why you are calling my under age son. He got real nasty with me and hung up. I called the number back and it only said customer service, please leave a message.
Did you ever hear back from them or have any problems?

These people need to be stopped!!! I try to be nice to all callers to my home and nicely told them she already had a tutor and she hung up on me.

I was very patient and listened to the whole pitch.

Your student requested information for preparing for the SAT and ACT exams. There are a lot of these companies out there, and since your daughter requested that information, you will be receiving about 100 calls from different companies.

Because my child ask for possible assistance that justfies rude behavior?  Received call from prepme4less asking if I had some time.  after a yes response, he immediately begins asking for personal information about my child. When I explian my reluctance with sharing personal information from an unsolicited person without details of his company's purpose, he abruptly tells me that it sounds as though I dont have time tonight and if I want to take a year to research their information for "the last chance before the test in Oct, then that is your choice" and hangs up.  At this point they would have to insure full scholarship before I did any business with them.  

I look forward to challenging the other callers in the same way.  May start answering "this is Peggy".
