Sallie Mae student loans. They have called multiple times today and have not left a voice mail. I am not behind with any of my payments. PLEASE STOP CALLING ME!

someone calls from this number at strange hours more than once a day but leaves no message why.

Caller asks for me by my first name only, which could easily be obtained from my voice mail message. SAYS they are from Sallie Mae, though half the country has student loan debt, that is a crap shoot as far as I'm concerned. Then wants me to "verify your last name, date of birth and social security number". I'm current on my bills, so I refused to give it and he hung up on me. I think this may be a phishing scam, so I'd advise anyone with a Sallie Mae loan to hang up the phone without giving them an ounce of information and contact Sallie Mae through regular channels.

Got a call on a text number (a number assigned to me only for texts over my data plan, which I don't use for phone calls. The recording told me to push "0" if I was Sean (Shawn?) Wilson, and to push "1" if I needed a moment to get Sean/Shawn to the phone. No option for "You're an idiot and there's no one named Sean/Shawn Wilson associated with this phone number, and I don't even know any one by that name." So I pushed "0," and after 10 minutes of "All associates are currently busy, but you are the next in line," I hung up and called back. The number rings to a company claiming to be "Naviant;" I pressed "0" for "I'd like to make a payment," knowing that would get somebody to the phone. They asked me for my social security number, which I refused to give, explaining that the person they were looking for doesn't exist at this phone number. When I gave them the phone number they had called, they said they had "no account with that phone number," and offered to transfer me to the department that could have my number removed...not surprisingly, there was an "error during transfer." Total scam, IMHO.

It's navient (formerly sallie mae) calling about loans. It's often an automated call that takes more time than you want to give just to get an associate on the line.
