they called me about a job.

Got  a call from this number requesting verification of Employment.

*********THIS IS A FRIGGIN SCAM TO STEAL YOUR IDENTITY!

Apparently the company is called Vertical Screen, they're a screening company for potential employers to use to screen their potential employees for more information on hiring them.

Called to verify employment of one of my employees who is taking a new job with GEICO. The employee is a licensed adjuster and was employed by me since 2003.  I was merely asked to confirm that he did, infact work for my business. I was also asked my first name and last initial.
That company is apprarently verifying information on the resume as submitted by the employee.  Looks completely legit to me.

Very persistent in knowing my last initial and information that I had provided. The rep. seemed surprised  when I was reluctant to answer more questions since they were verifying someone resume which didn't work at the company. The information given to this screening company had been fictional and had nothing to do with the company. This seemed a bit odd.

Def not a scam. It's a 3rd party hired by your employer. Ask your employer about it instead of making random comments.

They are scammers. The address on the site matches the phone number address.

Employment screening company. Does background checks for corporations; through references, double-checks resumes to see if they're accurate or if they've been padded

Scam. Called my cell. I work for a single employer who has no idea who they are. I am not looking or applying for a job. no reason for them to call my cell phone. Dont give them your information.
