She replied to our online rental post, and took our address. Never turned up!

Yes, I do agree with Srini. Neetu Singh is a rental Scammer and tried to swindle us by fraudulent e-mail as well. Thanks to Srini for this post which helped us to figure out the truth before we fell into the trap.

The email we received from this virtual "Neetu Singh" reads exactly the same words as Srini has mentioned in her post!

I got the same message from Neetu Singh and I gave her my complete address and name.
And she sent me a cheque worth more than the rent advance.
I didn't see your message before. If so, I would have been careful.
What can I do now. I'm already trapped and I have her money with me.
Please suggest.

I have also received same response but luckily i did not give my address but asked her to provide her passport details, client details and notarized affedevite and meetd in person before anything goes further.

By the way i was intrested knowing what does she do with this info and what purpose she uses our address and other details.

Here are few mails I have received, they are exactly same as the ones above. All the mails are coming from Nigeria (Lagos). Even I sent a text message and got a reply too! Looks like its a small team of scammer spending money for internet as well as VOIP service. The number mentioned below is a VOIP number from Haddon Heights, NJ. Please share if anyone shared your address for the check. I guess the scammer will ask you to send a check first or may be as soon as you receive one. If they are serious, they should be ready with fake checks.
