Just got my new phone number and these people call my house several times a day, I am at work when they call, well last night I finally was home when they called, they asked for someone that I didn't know, when I told them I just got this #, they basically called me a liar and said I was the person they were looking for, I told them to call my phone company and ask them when I got my service, then I told the jerk what else he could do,which I can't repeat....

DONT give them any personal information, they will make you think they are your friend then call you a liar when you question them. If you can have the conversation recorded but if not dont give them any bank info, they will just take all the money that is owed to you and there is nothing you can do about it.

If they tell you they don't accept "money orders" ask them to send you there policy paperwork stating this but don't give them your bank info, you will be sorry if you do.

They have called me about everyday, and keep asking for an Elizabeth? The last time they called, I said " I have told you guys a thousand times that person does not have this phone number". I told her to stop calling this number and she got really snotty with me.

I have received calls from this number and another number from the same place.
They are calling me on my cell phone and I would sure be curious as to how they got it. At one time I had my number on the donot call list.

Most of the time I don't answer the phone. I told them there was no one lives here by the name they ask for, but they keep calling and calling. How do I make them stop?

They keep calling me and when I called back I asked who they were and they refused to answer me. Then they asked if they could speak to a Susan or a Karen. I told them no one here by that name. Said they would remove my Number and then 10 mins later called and asked for either Susan or Karen. Told them again to stop calling and what is their Addy so I can send them a certified letter telling them wrong number and to stop calling. So jenny said F**K YOU!!! and hung up

They called on my business line.  I did not answer.  I am not behind in ANY payment to ANYONE.

I believe this is a creditor but they even have my cell phone number.

Phone# on caller ID: Academy Services 856.668.4530... No message left. I see by Google that this better not cause problems. There is a long email from someone 11/09 that turned them into the FTC and some other links. If this persists, trust me, I will raise heck.

http://www.academycollection.com/contact.html  This is the link to "Academy Service" based out of Philadelphia.  As you will take note, there is no phone number from Camden NJ associated with this link.  The 856 # is from Camden.  Something tells me this is a scam!!  I WILL find a way to get them to quit calling me - it's my cell phone # and they are using up my minutes every time they call and don't have the courtesy to speak.

They call me all the time, and I don't usually pick up.  The last 2 times they called I did -- they asked from someone named Ty Parker, and I tried to explain they had called a company cell phone and there was no Ty Parker at the company.  She (forget her name both times) got really rude.  So this is what I do ... it is hilarious.  I call the number back and speal very quietly, so they turn their phone up to hear me ... I then blow a whistle as loud as I can into the phone.  Boy, does that pi$$ them off ... I have done it 3 times, and crack myself every time.  I know it's sophmoric ... but it is fun.  Maybe if more folks do it to them, they will stop calling?  You have to remember to talk very softly when you call back, so they turn their receiver up -- then blow the whistle for all you worth.

They got your number by what's called skip tracing. Even if your not that person they will keep harassing you. You can take it to the police for harassment or have the phone co block them. My local co charges $4 a month for up to 30 blocked numbers. It was worth it, I don't even know the person they ask for and they have been calling forever it seems (well over 8 months anyway). They cursed at my 6 year old son, I could hear them as I was taking the phone from him! That was when I had their number blocked! Hope this helps.

Well, I finally had enough. I filed a complaint with the FTC. It was easier than I thought. Academy Services is listed on the internet with their address, I have caller ID so I can prove how often they call, and they sometimes leave a detailed message so I saved those, and they told someone else who answered the phone way too much information, and it was a baby sitter. Half the time it seems they don't even have the correct individual that they are harassing, and harassment is against the law.
I hope this helps people, even if you owe a bill, don't feel that you don't have a right to file a complaint against this company, they are breaking laws left and right. Do the right thing and help put them out of business! Sure they might re open under a new name, but it will cost them to do so in many ways. The FTC is not going to sit idly by while this is going on, this list of complaints is long, lets make it longer!

That is hysterical!! Too bad I don't have a whistle!! They called me, asked for someone, they asked "Do you know ____, I said no, do you?? Did it dawn on us that they monitor these boards too, to get info....Don't put names in your complaint!!
