They leave no message. I called the number twice. A recorded message identifies it as a research firm then disconnects. When the call is received and, you answer, there's a delay in the other end responding. This leads me to believe it's a computer generated call and rings back the caller when an answer to the place call is received. This tactic is generally used by debt collectors.

This is a scam called "Directions in Research". Callbacks to their voicemail, and logins to their "do not call" webpage are completely ignored. Two ideas here: 1) Calling the San Diego County District Attorney to ask about harassment charges, and 2) If you happen to get a live person calling you (which is rare), ask her what she looks like, what she's wearing, what color panties, etc. Remember, THEY called YOU, so they earn what they get!

I believe this call was a scam.  They posed as a survey about local businesses and services.  I feel instead they were phishing for my bank info.  They asked about banking, name, age, income level, etc. amid other questions about TV shows, legal services, law suits, medical/dental care providers, news sources, nursing homes, restaurants, etc.  I told her twice that this was taking too long, but she ensured me that it was almost over.  I feel VERY uncomfortable about the info I gave.  It is sad people need to take advantage of others' willingness to help.  The survey was extremely lengthy.  Is there anything I can do to protect myself at this point?

Calls relentlessly day after day.  Scam and fraud company wanting to separate you from ur money.  Beware.

they called twice today,  they claim to be doing a customer satisfaction survey for MEEMIC insurance,  they didn't ask too much personal info, just If I was happy with my agent, and if I would recommend them.

Already called twice in an hour...make it stop!

I keep getting these calls on my cell phone!   All hours of the day and night.  they never leave a message and when I googled it,  the call is from California, and I live in Pennsylvania .    I have no clue who keeps calling, and its very annoying, especially in the middle of the night!!

This is pure and simple harassment. I told them to take me off their list when I called the number back from my caller id and I left a message. They never leave a message. Ths calls kept coming. They called one day when I was home and I answered. They keep asking for my husband and said it was for medicare supplies. I keep telling them he does not live here anymore. I said I had an appointment with an attorney and would sue them. The lady I spoke to said she would take my number off their list.I heard her typing as I was on the line. She said she took care of and there would not be any more phone calls.The calls stopped.....for 4 days and this weekend they started up again. So I really think you need a lawyer and charge them with harassment.

I get calls several times per day, and even at night, from "Research Center".  If I answer, there is just dead air on the other end.

Called me at 7:09 PM on 9/9/15.  I didn't answer, and they didn't leave message.  Looks like hard line from La Jolla, CA.  I live in San Diego Co.

sometimes I will answer calls that I don't know. when I do I have fun by answering all of the questions like the address I give them the one of a hotel in my city the same goes for what bank, it will be one for a little bank up the street, then the ask for my full name I give Robert A Smitth which is not my name and I tell them I spell it with two "T's" try it some time

I got this bull s##t call this evening,my CI read research center.I will not answer this one,left no message. Most likely a scam.

I am getting daily calls from this 858 401 7167 phone number. It does't leave a message.
I want it to stop calling me.

I got a call yesterday from "Research Center" 858-401-7167. She asked for me by name. She said she was from Medicare and was doing a survey. I told her I don't do surveys and hung up.

I received a call from Research Center (858-401-7167). They asked for my mom and I told them they would have to speak to me.  They said, they could not speak to me, it had to be my mother.  I told them they had to go through me, so they hung up.  I knew all the time it was a scam.

858-401-7167 just want to be pain in the butt.  What they do not know is that the FBI are on to them.  When they least expect it, they are going to receive a big surprise and it is not going to be a good surprise!!!
