- M J MondayThis person(s) are committing internet fraud. They are running automobile scams and in fact scammed a family member the first week of July 2008. Another number they are using is: 214-481-4193
This person is located in California. They are listing in Craigs List and selling fictitious cars to unsuspecting consumers. They try and have you send money via Money Gram and even send you a receipt/invoice from EBay. Yes, you heard that right, they send an invoice from Ebay. They convince people that Ebay will handle the transaction for Craigs List and con folks into believing this. They say the car will be delivered and that Money Gram will hold the money in escrow to make sure you are satisfied, and then go on to say that the money is refundable within a certain amount of days.
They use GMail addresses and have gone under such names as:

I was suspicious and googled Ebay Motors complaints; when I saw this site, it was almost word-for-word what this guy told her in an email. He said he was in the UK and needed to sell his Hybrid, that it was costing too much to have overseas; he cited import costs, etc. and it all sounded good. He also lived in California and I noticed the other two names on this site have the same email address as his. He was pressuring her with emails about making this deal or losing it - I told her if it was such a good deal he would have several offers to buy it and he wouldn't need to pressure anyone. Thanks for the posts on this site. I'm sorry if anyone is falling for this scam. This was done by email from Craig's List - no phone calls were made.
- JaimieThis just happened to me I found a car on craig's list, he gave me the same Air force over-sea's and I fell for it. I just lost 4850.00 and don't know what to do. If anyone has any information please let me know I want to get this sucker.
- mikelli was caught on this also he try to get me to send him 4800.00 for a 2005 camry
- joeythis person has ripped me off for $4000 caution he useing craiglist we gotta get this person
- JenniHe just got me!!! Same thing today@!!! Dam guys what can we do???
- Jenniok I contacted the ftc and they told me to report the addresses to spam@uce.gov, its best to file a complaint with them it took me only 5 minutes. Then they gave me a reference number to include in the subject field. Everyone should call there resources and see what connections they may have and lets help put an end to this.
- JenniThis guy got me with the name of

and used the emails addresses of:

support@ukvppmotors.com - DarleneAdd me to the list of scamees. They are good. My husband is in the Army and a little nervous so he looked up in the military database and the Sargeants name checked out, and he was stationed in London. After we realized we were scammed my husband called London to find out that the Sargeant had been deployed but was stationed there. I called Attorney Generals Offices here in Texas and Washington (they said call FBI) Finally got through to Houston FBI and they were very sympathetic but said they just don't have the man power. My friend and I are on a crusade to destroy these crooks. EVERYONE hound your local news stations. The more the word gets out the better our chances. Check out my local new broadcast at www.myfoxhouston.com (02/20/09 9pm) Click on local then look for Craigslist Scammers. Hopefully your are reading this BEFORE and money sent. Another Statewide scam uses Chicago to collect money in. And to keep under felony, they request "downpayment only" use the same eBay Motors claim etc. This fax # also originates in California San Jose area 408-228-1988. They do not claim to be servicemen but are just as ruthless.
- SWI'm glad I found this site before I sent any money. They offered to sell me a 2006 Honda Pilot for $4990. It's worth at least $17000. They used a character by the name of MSgt Robert Gaylor who is supposedly in London. I'm in the military myself and knew that a lot of the things he was telling me were a little suspect. I'm sorry for anyone that fell for this.
- CarlosSame here, I found the listing on craiglist for the 2006 Honday Pilot for $4990 and sent Robert Gaylor and email asking questions, he nevers asnwers any of my questions except the generic replies, everyon BE AWARE of SCAMERS if is sounds too good is probably not real: se below some of the replies I received: I have found several others like this one last year and I picked up on the wording and know that is a scam.

Hi,
The payment will be made through eBay. I'm under Contract with eBay which states that we can close the deal using their service.Very Important, Only after you will receive the car, eBay will release the money to me.
The money will be sent per ebay instruction and you will give the payment details only to eBay. They will verify the payment and when the money are confirmed they will notify me to proceed with the shipping process. After you receive and see that the car is the one you want, you just notify eBay to give me the money.
In order to start the deal I need YOUR FULL NAME and SHIPPING ADDRESS so I can register the transaction with eBay. They will let you know what you have to do for the payment.
Thanks!

Hello,
Thank you for your interest in my car.This is a 2006 Honda Pilot 4x4 EX-L w/ DVD System,Leather,Mods,MINT!Automatic Transmission,Exterior Silver with Gray interior,Non-Smoker,clean title,only 58,000 miles on it,VIN# : 5FNYF18576B027150
Here you can find more pictures of the car: http://s682.photobucket.com/albums/vv188/hondapilot2006/?start=0
(if the above link does not work copy and paste it into a new web browser window)
The car has been well taken care of, always kept in the garage.Flawless exterior/interior condition,no scratches and no dents. It has never been involved in an accident. The engine starts and drives like new and the paint looks great. It comes with US clear title which will be signed and notorized in the buyer's name.Have original manuals and all keys.
I'm an US Air Force Sgt. currently stationed in United Kingdom. The car is here with me. It was bought in the US and shipped to Europe, but it was never permanently registered here, the car is still registered in the US.The car is for sale locally as well, but there are slim chances of this to happen. In order to be able to register this car here in UK the buyer would have to pay very high import/custom taxes that will double the price. So I decided to sell the car back in the US.
The final price is $4,990.00 including shipping from UK to the US and delivery to your home address.
So if you decide to buy this car or need further information please get back to me as soon as possible.
Thank you and have a great day
MSgt.Robert Gaylor - Jerrodthis is a scam so turn around and run the other direction if you dont believe me just google nsme stationed in UK you will witness all the individuals they have already scammed. Just be thankful that it was not you and will not be the one they are laughing at all the way to the bank. I hope they take it off of craigs list.
- StephanieThank God for this website.. It just saved me and my boyfriend 4990.00...
We got the same letter on the Honda Pilot and was just sent an eBay Motors Purchase Invoice everything looked good... I just had to check it out and this is what I found... Thank you all for your post's on this guy... May he get what is coming to him sooner than later... Thanks Again.. - Heather SheppardI too found a car, 2006 Honda Pilot on craigs list. The seller Robert Gaylor. He told me that ebay would take ove rthe transaction. After talking with a few co-workers and friends I decided to do a little research. I contacted ebay and they told me it was a scam, for the simple reason that ebay doesn't handle anything with craigs list. I almost got scammed, but because of the little voice in my head that kept saying "If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is".
- A KPI too was scammed by this person! Unbelievable! I even typed in the man's name MSgt Robert Gaylor to google and a wikipedia page came up of some military man in the air force. I really help this scammer gets caught.. Here's what he wrote for us :
Hello,
I will have the car shipped from UK by an US Air Force cargo plane so there won't be any additional shipping costs. The shipping will take 6-8 days, depending on your location.Shipping will be door to door,to your home address, somebody must be home when the car arrives to sign for the reception. The car will arrive with all the papers and documents required for registration and the keys. The clear title and the bill of sale will be already signed by me.
The payment will be done through eBay.You will send the money to eBay and as soon as the payment is confirmed they will notify me to proceed with the shipping. I will ship the car you will receive it and you will have 5 days for inspection, both the car and the paperwork and the option to accept or reject the car.The inspection time period will begin as soon as you sign for receiving the car at your requested address.During all this time eBay will hold the money into a trust account. So, this is not a blind transaction, you can see the car before decided to buy it.If you are satisfied with the car and decide to keep it you inform eBay about this and they will release the money to me. If the car is not as advertised and decide not to keep it eBay will refund you the money, no questions asked, and shipping back the car will be my concern. I think this is more than fair for the both of us.Please take in to consideration that I will get paid only after you receive the car and make sure everything is as agreed.
If you agree with these terms and you have the money, send me your full name and the address where you want the car to be delivered to and I will initiate the transaction with eBay. You will receive all the transaction details from them.
I will appreciate an answer as soon as possible.
Thank you!

This guy is a [***] and needs to get caught, the only reason i didnt fall for this is by googleing his email address, please anyone out there DONT GET SCAMMED!!!
SEMPER FI> - JoshBeware of the following email addresses:
msgt.gary.coleman@gmail.com
msgt.robertgaylor@gmail.com
Both email addresses have been found on Craigs List offering ridiculously low prices on what seem to be typically expensive vehicles.
I encountered an incident involving a 2005 Lexus and a Honda Pilot.
Both of them were to the sum of $4,000 to $5,000 U.S. Dollars.
Beware. - HeatherI am currently scamming this scammer. I know it probably won't do much good, but why not have some fun screwing with a total [***]? Also, see additional details below about the domain name they use to complete the transaction (it is not gmail).

Ok, I will. Just to let you know, I have withdrawn the funds but won’t be able to get to a moneygram agent today. I am a single mother and the only free time I have is during my lunch, and my manager just scheduled a mandatory meeting for today. Tomorrow I have the day off so I’ll be able to take my daughter with me to the moneygram place to complete this purchase. Thanks so much for this awesome opportunity. My car is on its last legs and I was really looking for something affordable. It has been tough for me financially being a single mother and I really wanted to buy a car that would be safe for my daughter (she’s only 17 months old). You have made my dream come true! I look forward to receiving the car!

OK
So you have all the details on how to send the money to the ebay agent.
I have one request for you when you will send the payment. Please tell the moneygram agent, if he ask you, that you are sending the money to a friend of yours in UK cause otherwise when i will receive my payment i will have to pay a commercial tax of 15% from the entire amount to the state of making commerce.I really appreciate if you can do this for me.It will help me a lot.
As soon as I receive the payment confirmation from ebay i will start the shipping.
Thanks!
2009/3/18, Me:
Got it. I need to go to the bank to withdraw the funds. I should be able to wire the money tomorrow.
Thanks,
