I got a phone call from this number and I tried to call it back but all I get is a fax machine.

Got two call calls from this number.  First was 12/26/12 and the other just now, on 1/11/13.  Caller ID display shows "Out of Area".  Service provider for the number is VolP.  It's either a scam or pharmaceutical sales and I wish they'd stop.  I stopped answering calls from numbers I don't recognize two years ago because of the number of these calls in hopes they'd stop.  Wishful thinking on my part.  These weirdos need to get a real job AND a life.

I just got a call from this number.  Left no message.

Phone rang at 6:18 pm EST in my MA residence but after 2nd ring no one there.  ID was just "San Diego, CA" where we have several friends, which is why I answered.

Just got a call in MA now, hung up when asked who they were. Can't be legitimate whoever they are.

Answered the call on mute - because the guy was muted too.  He butchered my last name, so yeah - sorry dude.

Just got a call from this #.  Caller ID said only San Diego, California, and displayed this # 858-412-0172.

The woman on the phone said that she was with "CARE".  

The correct address for CARE USA is: P.O. Box 7039, Merrifield, VA 22116

So I suspect that this is a scam of some kind...

I received a call asking for my Mom who died last month. I asked who was calling and she gave a name and said she was with Care. While my mother's mail is forwarded to me, the only place that used my phone # with her name was her doctor. So, I'm not sure how they put the name/number together

it seems to me that this call violates my "do not call" list

My caller id just said incoming call and I did *69 and lo and behold a live person answered on the other end saying she was from the Salvation Army and my name must have come up on her caller id because she asked if it was me.  I just hung up on her without saying anything.  Can't stand telemarketers.  Blocked the number.

This number came up on my caller ID. "unknown name" left no message.  Like I said before, it doesn't matter if you're on the do not call list. The scammers still call.

received call from 858-412-0172 on my work cell# asking for me by name on June 4th  and talking about the Republican party and saying was from Washington DC -  this area code is from CA so not true on where he was and  then asking for a donation of $100 or $200 -   told them I am at work not a good time and looked up the number to see all comments - SCAMMER FOR SURE

I am on a do not call list.  Who is calling me and why?

Called my phone today and let it ring for 25 times.  I'm on DNC and am getting 8-10 calls a day from numbers I don't recognize.  A lot of good it does to register with DNC.  Ticked off!

Rec'd multiple calls from them over the past 48hrs.  No message.  Won't answer a # I don't recognize.  Too many scammers that want your $ for nothing.  Sorry, but I'm not inclined to give it to them.

This number is MDS Communications.  It is a sales and marketing organization that makes calls for non-profits and charities for fundraising.  If you call the number back it will tell you who they are and provides you with the option to be added to their do not call list.  You will be asked to press 2 if you want to be added to do not call list and then asked to enter your number.  I have done this and it ceased all calls from this organization.  I will tell you I had to do this each time they called from a different number.  I received a call from the same organization on 202-558-4964 showing a David Bossie.  They had the exact same message and ability to respond.
