the 858-568-7619 number has been coming up on CID and it's out of San Diego, CA.  Portfoliorecovery has a long list of phone numbers to pick from.  The DNC should go after those people and put them out of business.  That's harassment espcially when you don't have debt and/or pay your bills in full on time.

This sham outfit has calleme from at least 50 different numbers and I have not answered one of them.
Caller id shows scam call and auto blocks them.
Go pound salt, Portfolio,you bunch of losers.

This number is the scum-buckets from Portfolio Recovery. They have many, many numbers they try to call you from. This one is a new one. Don't fall for what they say......they will try and tell you that you owe money you don't and make all kinds of threats about what will happen if you don't pay up. They are the scum of the earth. I don't know why they have not been shut down yet.

Don't listen to them, they just like to harass people.

It is from "Portfolio Recovery"

They call from numbers in GA, CA, several states. They buy prior old debts for 1c on the dollar or old lists of thousands of written off debts from banks paying $100 for the complete list. They have no rights what so aver to collect on them, but imply they do and push for a payment. Block their numbers when they call. If you do not, they will keep calling. If you give them ANY information, they then re-list the debt on your credit report as if it is owed to them. Being that you talked to them they take that as if you have acknowledge the debt to them even though you have not. Listing a new claim for a debt on your credit rating, THAT IS fraud on their part and makes their harassment subject to a $3,500 judgement against them for having done so. If they call let them know you know that and clearly tell them you are recording the call and not to call again being you are poor and could use an extra $3500.

My phone number has a VOIP number in which the primary Sprint number was owned by someone else and they had numerous collection issues.

Here's what I did:
If you have an Android phone, then assign the caller name DNA1, for Do Not Answer, 1 being the first, etc.  Once you have created the Contact, go to Options and select Send call directly to voicemail.

I have over 50 DNA's on the phone but live in peace...

These people call from various area codes. Asking for different people every time. I've told them they have the wrong #.

This is Portfolio Recovery collection agency it seems. They have been calling for my ex-wife but I always miss them. Finally last night I was able to answer and redirect them. My ex constantly has CAs calling so I have no doubt this is legit.

Portfolic Recovery has more numbers than "Carter Has Pills" - They will call 24/7 & would call more if there were more hours in a day!  Have on national call block, as I do for preauthorized credit cards - neither one works! This bill goes back 10/15 years & should have been written off. They are rude, don't care about your situation & my god even if I could afford to pay the original amount, the interest is "BS - "I could upgrade my car, fix our AC - now which one would you choose?" could pay this bill I would have a long time ago, however I'm disabled & have since 10/1998, we don't even have/planned for our passing, we don't have insurance coverage for our own funeral! You tried to reason with them & that is impossible! They truly don't understand the stress they cause me, which increases my pain! There should be a law for all the numbers they call from and a law with disabled people who are struggling to make ends meet. I would be very happy to pay if I still had my well paid job & be thrilled for them to go to all my doctors & take all my meds! PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE - I HAVE ENOUGH STRESS WITHOUT YOU IN MY LIFE!!! Caller ID at work said portfolio recovery. Guess they didn't want pizza because they hang up as soon as the menu grabbed the call

We agree! This company needs to check their phone numbers and not just randomly dial!!
