shows up as blocked name, no info at all

Missed call Tuesday, October 19th, 2010 at 5:48PM in NYC.  iPhone says Covington, KY.  Didn't bother calling back since I was already at computer and googled it.

"private call" displayed on id
woke me up
triggered answering machine
no message left

the company is SIRS
a survey company
they think it is okay to ignore the do not call list
and that we have to answer to tell them not to call

REPORT THEM !!!
IT TAKES A LOT OF REPORTS TO GET THE GOVT TO DO SOMETHING
so do it !!

They use a different number every day.  Do a search on RAN DAVID BARNEA of Boca Raton Florida and learn about his companies that leave false numbers on caller id's so that the public doesn't know who is making the calls.  

They are scammers who know how to exploit a legal loophole about not having to leave their real telephone number.

859-547-1404 called at 1909 on 5/13/11. No message was left and there was no name on the caller ID.

Received a call on Sunday night.  They did not leave a message.

Caller ID says Covington, KY.  I hate telemarketers too (including the like of the American Cancer Society, Luekemia & Lymphoma is the worst!) but at least this one doesn't leave a message.

These people are NOT telemarketers. They are pretexters. Pretexting is a different kind of crime than telemarketing. All they want is to gather personal information on you that they can sell to commercial databases, so that ethically challenged companies can send you junk mail and figure out how to raise prices the most effectively. They don't really want your opinions.

If you go into several different grocery stores with a notebook and compare prices at stores that use loyalty cards with stores that don't use them, you'll see the stores with the loyalty cards have by far the highest prices. They have been local professional consumer studies that have proven this.

This consumer pretexting serves basically the same purpose.

I am fed up with these people, the call every day and all times of the day, something ha to be done!!!!!
