Scammer, claimed to be from Microsoft Tech Support, who has noticed an unusual amount of error messages being reported to them.  If we would just click on a link so they could repair the computer remotely, it would prevent installation of malware...etc.  After asking why the caller ID number said "Jim Fowler" and telling him that this sounded like a scam, started cussing at me in some Indian or Pakistani accent.  Oops...looks like little Ahmed got caught this time.

Received a call just now on 5 Apr from a supposed Ryan from Microsoft telling me my computer was being hacked and I need to be in front of my computer blah blah blah.

i called Comcast months ago, I got the phone number from Comcast due to trouble on my netgear !!!!!!!  some Abudabi guru answered and they gave me a load of sh___  I fell for it only to catch them the next day on lies and called bank to STOP funds ASAP, it is a scam...their websites were not compatable to the Co name...GNS... i still get calls from this number saying my computer has a virus, I hung up on them, now they just called and  want to refund my money from previous charge  from GNS from months ago saying they are closing down the company and have a different name...GNS/IPC ???...my bank already handled it and if they want ot refund bank I have NO part in this any more...they wanted to ge back on my computer to fix/  get my info again.....NOT   i just hung up...they called right back...persistent...I did not answer....
