got a call from this number, no one answered when i said hello.

Called House - did not answer because unaware of who it was

Called my house and asked for Mr. x. Told them he wasn't home and they hung up immediately not giving me a chance to ask if he could call them back.

This number called my phone with no message. It is a scam

They called and it hung up when I answered.  I googled the number so I would know whether or not to set the call block feature on my Panasonic phone.  Love that feature!  When they call back, they get a busy signal every time!

Someone from this number 865-230-8922 called my house and hung up when I answered the phone. I called it back and was told the mail box was full and then all I heard was a busy signal.

I suggest all of you get some type of call blocker unit. They will NOT stop. I'm on the do not call registry list, I have asked them to stop calling,  I try to ignore them. I have changed my number. Nothing in the last ten years have worked except my call blocker unit. I think spyware gets your number anytime you do business on internet or the auto dialers search and sniff you out. My peace has finally come at a worthwhile price. I google the number to see if it's legitimate or a telemarketer.Then I tap a button after I identify a call as a telemarketing number on my caller ID and that number cant ring my line anymore. It still shows up on my ID but my phone never rings. When your as fed up as I am, You'll spend the money. Good luck!

I did Trace the call and it came up a Knoxville  TN locations ... I have No idea who it was other than Location.
Someone needs to find out more about this caller and Bust them !!!

I just received a call from 865-230-8922, too. When I answered, no one responded, so I hung up. I called the number back several times, and each time it dialed the number, then switched to a dial tone switch from a ring to a dial tone, like it's not a valid number or something. It obviously works enough to call people, though. Very strange.

I just input that phone number into reverse phone lookup and this came up: "865-230-8922 is not a valid phone number." Weirder and weirder.

Just called my house. I looked the number up on whitepages.com, and it is a cell phone number from Knoxville, TN.

no response upon answering

Recieved the call, let it go to answering machine, they hung up.  I dialed the number back as it is on the ID and I get that this line has been disconnected.  VERY strange.  Reverse does say it is a Knoxville Cell Phone.

there was this annoying lady who wanted donation for a breast cancer foundation. i asked her for a website and email address and she wouldn't give me. She told me when i get an invoice, it will have all the information and all she needed was one time payment of $20. I said I am not paying unless i know what foundation it is for and to give me the website. she said 'breastcancerrelief'. i told her that there is an option there to pay online and i would prefer that! she hung up!

I saw another post where the called party picks up and doesn't say anything or mutes their phone on the caller. I did this when this call came in. It was a recording to call another number in the 877 area??? and then it autoatically disconnected. The other person who posted this idea was right, even thought it wasn't a live person, it still makes you feel a tiny bit better. :)

I actually answered and recieved a black womans voice stating shes raising money for breast cancer awareness. gave my name and address and feeling very stupid now. but when whatever packet comes through ill make sure it goes back where it came from. How can you raise money for a cause and then not have a return number incase any questions crossed the donors mind......was a little nieve but not dumb by far.

Okay...I'm on the DNC, also...which to me is another bureaucratic waste of our money...What I'm doing now when I receive a call from 'unknown' sources (in this case ID shows Knoxville, TN) I answer and say NOTHING! In this case a woman at the other end said, 'hello?'...TSK...while I simply remained silent :) ....in the recess of my mind, I'm satisfied that they are in that moment subject to the same treatment they dish out. Shame on me, but hey...I feel better ... :) :) :)
