Called the number back after it called me and only heard hold music.  Got a woman and she said:
"steven and michaels associates collection agency"

Steve is the guy who calls every few days and says 'this is an important call, please call me at extension 2878. Very annoying.

Called at 7:30 Saturday Morning. Left message and number to call back.Like that will ever happen. Seems number was generated in California.

Yes, very annoying - doesn't tell why he is calling, just says it is very important. As if I am going to call him back....

Been calling almost everyday trying to collect on a zombie debt of my husbands from YEARS AND YEARS ago. "Like, HELLO!!!! Have you not heard of the statue of limitations????? Go ahead and waste your time and efforts...you will not get a penny from us!!!"

Look out. This debt collector has the new latest trick up his sleeve to get you to call him back.  He doesn't ask to speak to anyone by name, identifies himself as "Dr. Rivera", and says he has important personal matter to discuss and to call him back.  He's trying to make people think he's a medical doctor or something calling regarding an important health related issue.

this guy is going around stating that his name is Dr. Rivera and he has an important matter to discuss with you.  This company is using questionable business practices to collect on old medical debits

They called and I called them back because I knew I didn't have anything to hide. They stated I had a mastercard debt from 9yrs ago that I owed $1,400 on and when I asked them the name of the mastercard and where I had lived then, they got nasty. They said I had made payments on the account.  They told me the name of the mastercard which I had NEVER heard of and I NEVER lived where they said I did. Then he said I was a liar. He said so someone opens an acct. in your name and then pays it for a while and then stops paying it. I told him I didn't know what they did but I didn't know anything about it and I wanted him to send me all the info on the acct including my signatures and I would be requesting it in writing and he said it was to late and hung up on me.

Received call with message to call Kayla Russo at 866-201-0940 ext 2850.  Caller stated she had "Important Information".

When is enough ENOUGH? I'm getting sick and tired of these solicitation calls and even after we list our number on the DO NOT CALL LIST, they STILL CALL!!!! WTF???

I think we should all do this to those [***] so they can taste what they do to us. I've just started receiving those calls from them since last week and prior to that, I didn't even receive any letters so needless to say, I don't know what the hell they were talking about

I did call them back, and I cannot for the life of me get them to take me to small claims court to resolve this. I am more than willing to go to court with them since I do not owe this debt. The only thing they seem to be willing to do is keep calling. No balls, just hiding behind walls and phones.

Come on Stephens & Michaels, grow a set and sue me :D I am waiting if you think you have a case.

I've been getting calls indicated on my caller I.D. from this #, never a message, and a couple of times I've seen it on "incoming," but it disconnects after a couple of rings.  I'm no expert of telephone technology details (and care even less - just want to make and receive calls as needed for business and friends).  But a friend said these outfits often dial many - MANY! - #'s simultaneously, and a live person on calling end will connect with first person who picks-up.  Says sometimes their systems then may or may not deliver a message to voice mails; probably others who pick-up (but after first one) will get no response, or sometimes a recorded mesage.  He said the Pentagon and CIA may have ultra systems, but outfits like this one have inconsistent ones; plus calling outfit can often represent multiple issues - hawking credit cards, car warranties, etc., or "collecting" some bogus, mis-identified alleged debt, and/or be confirming active telephone #'s for other telemarketers.  These weasels represent the downside of modern technology, and seldom - if ever - represent any legitimate, bona fide purpose, or anything which should be of concern or interest to any of us.

So those guys go a hold of my number as well. After ignoring their calls (I had looked up this site before...) I decided to call them back and have a little fun. I called three times (more to come) and made up a story each time...they ended up asking for a SSN (yeah, right!) so I offered my first child with that.

Bottom line, I don't know how to get those a--holes to stop calling, but hey, they won't be able to stop me either.

You need to report them to the Federal Trade Commission they have their OWN FEDERAL attorneys that will NAIL THESE INVADERS AND FAKES to a wall.  Look up the number for the Federal Trade Commission in your state.  The FTC is VERY PLESANT and KIND and with enough of us calling and complaining they will take matters in their own hands.  The FTC will not use your OUR names they will go after this company theirself.  LETS SEE HOW THEY LIKE THE PHONE CALLS.  A scamming LAW FIRM  HOW DO YOU LIKE THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION.  See all us people out here that you harrass and annoy we will come together and have your phone ringing and shut down!!!  Please everyone take the time to call the FTC also STORE THIS FAKE NUMBER IN YOUR CALLER ID AS FAKE SCAM and you wont need to answer it.  Keep a log of the days and times they call.  Report it!!!!! A REAL ATTORNEY WITH A REAL MATTER WILL NOT HAVE A MACHINE CALL YOU AND PUT YOU ON HOLD.  They will send you something in WRITTING FIRST!!!! DO NOT CALL THEM BACK DO NOT GIVE THEM INFORMATION, DO NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THEM. THERE ARE TOO MANY SCAMS OUT THERE!!!!!! BE SAFE AND COME TOGETHER AND CALL THE FTC!!!!

Hey, here's an interesting fact. Stephens and Michaels collections Google them; they are currently being sued for unfair collection practices. You can see and read the lawsuit against them. Call the FTC!!! They obviously tangled with the wrong person, and now look who's being sued!!!!!! God bless the knowledge of people!!!!!!!!!

These people have called several times and after researching i beleive they are predators as the information they provided is clearly not from any logit credit agency.  they say they are from the law firm of stevens and michael but when i try to research i cannot find anything
