Call @3:36PM 10/01/2009 Our answering machine took the call but no message left

Nuisance call that only shows the phone number

?????????????  no message

They call, I answer, dead air, then pre-recorded message: " We're sorry there is no representative to connect with this call , blah, blah . . . ".

Truly mind-boggling! Who called who? Whatever happened to telephone etiquette? Machine-dialed or not, there simply is no excuse for this nonsense!

Oh well. Another number for the block call list on my Panasonic phone system.

Update: Telemarketer pushing Nuance Software

I bought and promptly returned their software many years ago as it didn't work according to their specs. Will never buy any of their software again.

Number calls once a day, I answer, and receive only dead air then a hang up. Calls around the same time every day. Any idea what company this is so I can file a complaint with their company.

I just called the number back and was able to remove my phone number from their call list.  It was an automated process and took less than 1 minute.  I called the number at 12 noon on a Tuesday so you should be able to take care of this easily enough.

OmniPage is the best OCR deal you can get and it works as advertised. That said, Nuance's telemarketing is a great annoyance, and it probably costs them more sales than it generates. As noted, they don't leave messages and sometimes hang up after 2-3 rings. I don't answer calls w/o name of caller ID on the screen--and not all of those!

I agree with you. Omnipage is the best on the market, but their sales person are annoying because they call me too often.

They call every morning at 9:30, no one there, I can't put myself on the American DO NO CALL list.
