Report a phone call from 866-230-8075 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- KonabeanGot a call this morning on the house phone #, which I never give out. A roomate took the message, said the person asked for me by name like she was a friend of mine. Said her name was Danisha.
- Samantha SueCalled my cell number and my mother's cell phone. Left brief message and number to call back. After doing some research online will not deal with these people.
- Caller: Palisades Collection L.L.C
- Whome? This company seemingly calls people at random. Many times they have called and left a message asking for someone who does not live here to call them back. Any more calls and I will call them up and raise a ruckus.
- Angela SIt's a scam! BEWARE!! They have called me several times. I have called back and they ask for my SS# during the automatic portion. When a person finally answered the phone, they ask for your name and swear my cell phone was never in their system. I did not give them either the SS# or my name. The more information they have, the more opportunity they have to scam you.
- BrookePalisades had been calling me from 866-230-8075 every day. When I would try calling the number back, I would get an operator error message. I knew they had the wrong number because I have no reason to be called by a collection agency. After fishing around online and by phone, I was finally able to get through to someone at 800-414-8319. They told me who they were calling for (not me) so I asked them to take my name/number off their list. The man was actually rather polite, appologized and told me they would remove me right away. (Hopefully they actually do.)
- Caller: Palisades Collection, LLC
- Sasha KingstonI just finished checking my credit report and sure enough this company has me listed owing $150. I've been receiving phone calls on my cell phone but no messages have been left. I finally got through and spoke with a very RUDE operator and she asked for my SSN. I told her that I cannot and will not give her my SSN. I then asked to speak to a supervisor/manager and she immediatley hung up the phone. I was left with a dial tone. My course of action will be to dispute this through the credit company!
- Caller: Palisades Collection
- Harry RReceived a call on my cell, no message was left,so I returned the call,it was from Palisades Collection. They were looking for a woman who I have never heard of. I've had this same number for over 4 years, the guy said he would remove the number from their list.
- Caller: Palisades Collection
- JordanThey've called me several times now and left a message once. Yesterday and today they've called and I actually answered... to silence. I say "Hello?" 3 or 4 times and there's never anybody that responds. I'm getting pretty tired of this. On the message they didn't say who they were looking for, just to call them back.
- Caller: Palisades Collection
- KSThis number calls our home phone sometimes twice a day and no one ever speaks! It's quite annoying.
- BThey have been calling me and leaving a message for someone I have never heard of to call back, for awhile they were calling every day. This has been going on for a few years. I have called them twice to let them know they have the wrong number and for awhile the calls stop then they start up again. It is very annoying
- D. M.I have received several calls over last few days at home number. If you have not already file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at the followind website address. The more complaints the more attention it will get. I have posted one myself.
https://www.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx - JI have received numerous calls with call with a "call back" message. I had three calls yesterday. I called this number today, was asked to give my phone number and they would veriry, I did not want to give my number, then the gentleman asked my number was........they were looking for someone I have number heard of this is very annoying.
- Caller: Palisades Collection
- AnnonymousReceived a call from 866-230-8075. Caller ID stated unavailable, so I didn't answer the call. They did not leave a message.
This is Palisades Collections and they could be in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act for harassment as they are not identifying themselves on the Caller ID. Palisades uses another toll free number too, but I can't think of it off the top of my head. Their MO is basically the same as the posts in this thread, and can be found on this board. They call with a toll free number which the caller ID states is from Unavailable. They are purposely hiding their Identity from caller ID's since it is not meaningful disclosure of the caller's identity under paragraph 6 of section 806.

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act spells out harassment or abuse as
[quote]
§ 806. Harassment or abuse
A debt collector may not engage in any conduct the natural
consequence of which is to harass, oppress, or abuse any
person in connection with the collection of a debt. Without
limiting the general application of the foregoing, the following
conduct is a violation of this section:
(1) The use or threat of use of violence or other criminal
means to harm the physical person, reputation, or property
of any person.
(2) The use of obscene or profane language or language
the natural consequence of which is to abuse the hearer
or reader.
(3) The publication of a list of consumers who allegedly
refuse to pay debts, except to a consumer reporting
agency or to persons meeting the requirements of section
603(f) or 604(3) of this Act.
(4) The advertisement for sale of any debt to coerce payment
of the debt.
(5) Causing a telephone to ring or engaging any person
in telephone conversation repeatedly or continuously
with intent to annoy, abuse, or harass any person at the
called number.
(6) Except as provided in section 804, the placement of
telephone calls without meaningful disclosure of the
caller’s identity.

© 2008 BBB of Metro Washington DC & Eastern Pennsylvania - SARAcan't understand the caller much; foreigner stating something that I much call back; did not call back; a former friend of the family apparently didn't pay back something and we have already told this company that we don't have any contact and don't know where this person is
- New Braunfels, Txgot a message to call this number, recording said they were a debt collector, asked me to give SSN, didn't do that of course....I'm not behind on any payments....has to be a scam. Won't deal with this number.
- gwill768662308075. Left some sort of message. Got my name straight. Guess the foreigners got their American phone class. Smash some buttons and start talking.
- Xenia, ILCalls my teenage daughter's cell phone repeatedly. This number shows up. I called them three times in a row asking to speak to a manager. All they would do was say no then scream at me that I was harrassing them and they didn't have to put up with it and hung up on me. I got mad and got on the internet and look at what all I found. Low life scammers. I have filed a complaint on donotcallgov.com so far. I am not thru with my complaints yet.
- Caller: Pallisades Collections
- cxspanAfter receiving my 4th call from these guys I finally decided to call back and see what it was all about. Is it just me or does "Pallisades" sound like a strip club? They could've at least said "Pallisades Collection Agency" on the message. Anyway, I pressed 1 for English and that's when they ask for your SSN. Yeah right people! This is also where I started laughing. If you don't enter anything and just wait for a few seconds it continues on to another menu. Pressed 5 for "all other inquiries". The guy asked if I was some-name-i-could-not-even-understand. I told him "no" and he said they had a wrong number and I would be removed from their system and hung up.
As others have alluded to, these people are very rude. My advice is to keep your cool and don't bother trying to talk to a manager. No collections agency is ever going to win an award for customer service and they know it. They have no incentive to be polite, and besides, their lives probably suck.
Hope this helps, good luck! - cxspanBtw, I don't think you can put a collections agency on the donotcall list, considering some people actually do owe them money. As they state at the beginning of their recorded message, "this is not a sales call". Here's the verbiage from donotcall.gov:
Who is covered by the National Do Not Call Registry?
The National Do Not Call Registry applies to any plan, program, or campaign to sell goods or services through interstate phone calls. This includes telemarketers who solicit consumers, often on behalf of third party sellers. It also includes sellers who provide, offer to provide, or arrange to provide goods or services to consumers in exchange for payment. - RonHow many people have recieved calls that say "this is not a sales call" and when they call back its some firm that bought your information from some credit card company.
I have tried on three seperate occasions to talk to these people. It seems that all they are interested in is your ssn. I'm not about to give that to them.
Checked with all my creditors and I'm in good standing. Also if they are, as some have stated, a collection agency, they have 5 days after first contact to mail you verification of any debt they say you owe. I think 90 days is a little over the two day limit.
I wonder if Ben Ladin is their training officer?
