Called at 6:15 AM on a Saturday, purporting to be doing a reference
check, but actually asking for contact information on the person being
checked.

They keep calling trying to collect on a student loan from a former neighbor that moved out almost 5 years ago. I live in a 13 unit apt bldg. I can't believe they have the nerve to call me a former neighbor, not the person they are seeking.

I do not have an account with this company. I do have student loans and they are being paid off, slowly but surly.

These people refuse to stop calling my 91 year old grandmother despite repeated requests to do so.

She has informed them that I do not live there.
She has asked them each time to stop calling.

They refuse to stop calling.

We will be filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission each and every time they call her from now on.

Number called me like 6 times a day. It's student assistance corporation. I was pissed when I answered bc once was at the crack of dawn and another time at 11:00 at night I picked up that time bc I was so pissed. After cursing out the rep I found out they go off an automatic dialer so it's based on your area codes time zone. I felt pretty foolish!! The lady I spoke w was so nice and helpful. It was about the student loan I've been stressing over. They actually hook u up w non payment options that put the loan on hold until u can resume normal monthly pmt I think it's called a deferment?? I checked my bill 3 months later and it was satisfied no credit reporting no interest tacked on and thank god no more phone calls. I thought this might be useful to some bc I normally don't answer if I owe $ and don't have it, but I'm sure glad I did:)

called me tonight at 8:30 looking to collect on a student loan from my wifes ex mother in law. how the hell are these companies able to get my phone number? my wife divorced her so 10 years ago. ridiculous

Got a call yesterday 4/1 saying they were from Nelnet and gave this number for me to call back. Unfortunately I did, strangely the lady told me how to fill a form for Nelnet. Nelnet called today and had no record of my call and was not familiar with this number.

They called my MOM, who is in her 70's, looking for me, and they lied to her and told her they were my lender. She gave them far too much information, but how was she to know?
