Got a recorded message, asking for someone I've never heard of, telling me a formal "claim" has been filed against <person's name> and that they needed our home AND place of employment addresses so the claim could be formally presented.  We had only ONE opportunity to respond, or else...  Oh well.  B******s...

Its Global recovery group a bill collector. They spoof as many local numbers and talk of a claim brought against you.

Just got a call from same number, caller stated she was Patricia White and provided me with a litigation number. She wanted me to tell her how to contact the person she was looking for, scared me at first.

They've been blowing up my phone all day. Left a "scary" message saying they have a claim or some nonsense and want me to give them information--that ain't happenin'. I've blocked their number and they can pound sand.

Some weird guy named John Turner called my nephew in another state on his cell phone (and I have NO idea how they got his number) and said they have some claim against me and are going to serve me with papers and need my address. What in the heck?

I won't even classify these criminals as debt collectors. Big red flag...they won't provide a mailing address. And, the fact that they make the rounds calling family members to try and scare them into 1) either paying them money on the false claim of a debt or 2) that you will actually call them back and then, they will continue their extortion efforts on these false debt claims.  Do NOT be fooled, please! This is extortion and criminal what they are doing. If a real debt collector were going to file a civil suit, they would serve the papers without making a phone call first. And, real debt collectors have to notify you of a debt claim in writing first so that you have a chance to dispute the claim.

My brother called me and said this lady calling herself "Patricia White" called his house looking for me. He has a private number, not sure how she got his number.  She was screaming that there was a claim against me and she needed to find me or I'd be arrested. She then called me on my cell phone and screamed the same things. I asked her what company and what debt I owed, but she just ignored me and kept screaming that she was coming to my work to serve me with papers. She ended the call by screaming, "You have been served and warned!"  

What a psycho is all I can say.  If she really was an investigator, she would have the proper resources to find me, I would think.  And tell me what company she's with. She won't say.
