- BrianThis is a rogue collection agency, and not a legit one at that. They purchase ancient old debt that you may or may not owe. They will use scare tactics, for example, stating charges have been filed against you and they will serve you with a summons at your place of employment. They fail to identify themselves and also their address. All against fair debt collection laws. If you receive a call from them, do not give them any of your information, they do not have it and this is NOT a legit company. Instead, file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. They go by generic names like Huntington and the "investigation firm".
- Caller: The investigation firm, Huntington

- TammyGood to know, I got a call from here as well. They leave very threatening messages and They have used SEVERAL different numbers and not one of them shows under a search online. I was pretty sure this was some kind of scam. I filed a complaint with the FTC yesterday already.

- Kim| 1 replyI got a call from this number saying they are serving me a summons at my place of employment for charges that have been filed against me. They need my home and work address to serve me with my summons. Then they told me it is imperative that I contact them because they are a mediation firm. The jerks name who called is Derek James, he's always very pleasant when he calls with that demeaning tone.
- Caller: Mediation Firm
- Teresa replies to KimDerrick James! thats the guy that calls me. "I need to verify your address for service and process". The reason you cant find these scammers is because they keep changing numbers. This is the payday loan collection scam. You can read about it here:
http://www.fbi.gov/news/pressrel/press-releases/paydayloanscam_120710 - Marvin•You cannot go to jail for failing to pay a debt;
•If you are threatened in any way by the debt collector, hang
up and file a complaint with the Attorney General's office;
•Do not give out any personal information over the telephone,
including bank account numbers or credit card numbers;
•When in doubt, ask the debt collector to provide you with
documentation that substantiates the debt they are trying to collect;
•Contact the original creditor and ask whether the debt has
been paid. If it has not, confirm that the debt was sold to a third party collector before making a payment.- Caller: The mediation firm

- MarvinNo debt collector has the legal authority to have anyone arrested for anything. These are criminals calling you to steal your money by gaining access to your bank account and credit card numbers. Unlike other scammers, these are playing on your fear rather than your greed or sympathy. See these sample cease-and-desist letter that Clark Howard (a national consumer advocate) suggests you send to the debt collector.
