I had to file a police complaint last time and dispute the charge with my CC.How the hell do they get my cc number, I don't know. We should do something about this place!

I got charge for $16.99 on 12/26/08 and posted on 12/27/08 but I'm dead sure I never went to Tarzana although it's not too far from where I live. I also got phone call several times from 866-254-8045 on my caller ID.

I usually don't answered it because I thought it's more than likely it's a telemarketer but I accidentally answered it once. They spoke on the behalf of credit card company & offered me an account protection service my correctly-related credit card account.

I followed along to the point they were asking to VERIFY my address. I was alarmed when they wanted me to verify it because the credit card company should have my current address anyway. Thus, I told them so and disconnect the line. I'm pretty sure this type of incident could lead to Identity Thieve case had I confirm it over the phone.

BBB listed that this company THE BARGAIN 866 254 8045 Tarzana, CA deals with stone and owned by a guy named Ali Gandji. http://www.labbb.org/BBBWeb/Forms/Business/Co ... anyID=100028765

However, I was pretty sure the man who spoke on the phone does not have any accent at all, at least almost no indian/bangladesh/pakistani accent.

FBI needs to get alarm as I guess it would lead to Identity Robbery attempt and a case.

Left a call back number on 8662548045 got a call back from a Jack who says his number is being used by "someone" for fraudulent use.  He asked for the last 4 digit of my ATM card which I gave since its been deactivated anyway.  He said a person named Fred Ramalo from Irvine CA ordered books from his company using my ATM card.  I don't know whether to believe him or not coz when you called earlier (8662548045)one of the option says press *1 to place an order and indicate color and size. FOr books?  I asked him about it and he says he has other products.  Very sketchy and dubious explanation.  BUt whoever they are they know we're on to them.  I had already reported them to the BBB, FTC, my bank Equifax and the likes.  This Jack person's explanation did not sit well either.  He said the book came back to them because the Irvine address was false.  If that is the case why did THE BARGAIN not take the initiative to credit my account?  I don't trust him either way.  By the way this Jack says the "real" bad people are testing the card with small purchases of $16.89 to see if the card is good and then they will hit with a big purchase. If there  some truth to this then it is best for everyone to just cancel their cards.

I never received a call from this company but I did get a charge of $16.87. I called and left a message asking what the company does and that I was charged and was surprised to get a call back from a mannamed "Jack" he said he would look into the charge and call me back.  Apparently they work with online purchases with websites like Amazon and Ebay.... Either way, I didn't buy anything from anyone online.  I am currently disputing this charge and have reported them to the BBB.

I did not get a phone call either, and was charged $16.52 on my credit card 11/30/2009.  Reported fraud to my bank, requested a copy of the signed receipt because their immediate investigation showed that the card was present at the time of the so called "purchase". I was not in town nor purchasing on the Internet that day. Will use this as further evidence for the local police (Van Nuys).  I'm filing a police report including the dozens of threads like these... maybe they'll get a clue.  Will follow all your suggestions for complaints. Time to alert the media!

Just received the same fraudulent charge from The Bargin.  Why isn't someone onto this yet?  Probably because It's such a small amount and If you use your cc a lot, you may miss it.  Fortunately I never purchase anything for 17.00 on a cc!

I didn't get a call but they somehow stole my credit card number. I've never been to Tarzana nor have I ever lost or lent out my card. This is the second time in a year they have charged me and once again I have reported it to the fraud department and FBI. I wouldn't think it would take a year to get sorted or that Cap One would allow the charges to go through a second time. I had to have the account closed because I don't really think their crack fraud team is going to sleuth this one out. I called the LAPD's "West Valley Station" that covers Tarzana and they told me that I need to report it to my local Police department (which is not even LAPD).
In addition to fraudulent charges there seems to be a lot of buck passing.  >_<

I just got a charge for $16.89 on my credit card today.  I am now headed to the bank to pick up a new ATM card since this one was cancelled.  This is a huge pain, and I can't believe all these other people have gone through the same thing and yet this is still allowed to happen.
