- MelissaDinah,
My name is Melissa. I received a call from this number at my place of employment stating that they are investigators and that I owe them money and if I don't pay it, they are issuing a warrant. They actually had the correct bill, etc(from 4 years ago-the bill was originally 106.00 they say that now I owe like 855.00)... What the crap. I researched this number and it says it comes from a company called, Bandwidth.com. Never heard of them. I am checking with the BBB to see who they are. - MelissaThis company states that I owe some outlandish amount of money for a bill that was originally only $106. now they state it's $865. I tried to call back and it doesn't say a name of a company, just asks for the extension number. They said that if I don't pay this IMMEDIATELY, they are having a warrant issued. They claim they are detectives but the phone number when I searched it, says it comes from, 'Bandwidth.com". I've never heard of this company but will be checking with the BBB today!

- PublicSchoolTeacher| 1 replyBandwidth.com is the internet phone company that provides this scum with their phone service. The people calling you do not work for them.
I get these calls about every 6 months or so. It's different numbers but they always have the same scam in one form or another. They have even gone so far as to call my place of employment and my mother. It is a SCAM. My State Attorney General's Office says they shut them down but then they just open up in a new place with a new number. When they call me the first time, I now just start laughing hysterically and tell them "Good Luck". If they chose to call back a 2nd time I get all serious and ask for as much info as I can get such as company name and address. Then I hang up. I report to the FTC and my State Attorney General. If it continues, I then start calling them back and use different voices while doing everything from crying hysterically, offering a Starbucks card because I have no credit cards since companies won't give someone with bad loans or check fraud credit, or giving them my attorneys name and number which is usually the number for either the local police department or FBI field office. after about 3 or 4 calls in a row of me harassing them, they leave me alone. If they absolutely won't give up I have an airhorn I blow into the phone when they call. That has always done the trick. Problem is I am on some list with enough of my personal information that these scammers just keep trying. Instead of letting it stress me out I have turned it into a game by trying to be as outrageous as I can.- Call type: Debt collector
- Tammie replies to PublicSchoolTeacherI know where you are coming from. I have been getting harassing calls for a few years myself and then they wonder why I get rude at times when I tell them I am not paying I debt that has already been paid and I have told many of them to please take me court so I can file a counter suit against whoever keeps selling fraudulent information to fraudulent debt collectors. I just wonder how many years they are going to keep calling for the same crap..lol
- ayeyiyiI get them every time I apply for credit. I have laughed at them told them several times please I am waiting with baited breathe to receive my court summons. I have reported them several times myself and my AG's office says just ignore them. I don't care if they call me I just hate when they start calling my family.

- LynneThey called my work when I was OOO. They left 3 messages back to back, stating they needed to have a recorded message and a judgement was being filled against me. People, there has to be a way to stop these harrasing calls. I am so tired of these people getting a hold of our personal information from lists that are sold to them and then calls to my work and personal phone line. It has to stop.
