WOW a little rude aren't you. Maybe they are getting a call for someone with the same last name and you have never met the person as in my case. I have received a call from this number and when I said I have never heard of this person they called me a lier and hung up.

there has to be a legal way to stop this debt collector people from calling numbers that have nothing to do with debt. the no call registration does not work so does anyone know of any consumer protection agency that can fine these companies for harassment? especially when you have try to clarify this is the wrong number and I can prove I am not person they are looking for!

They have a program that will stop the calls. They have a package where you take the caller into Federal Court. The material shows anyone a step by step process. It's not hard, plus you can get money from the actual callers.

This number is placed on blocked caller, but calls once or twice a day.  Phone will ring only one ring with call block.   Since bills are all paid up, do not know their purpose beyond annoyance.

they buy old debts that are dismissed, sometimes because the person is deceased, so don't be so quick to judge

I agree, these ppl can't get the concept that they are calling the wrong person. Really, how much sense does it take? You shouldn't have to prove anything to them, they should verify their info not go on a fishing trip.

Received call from 866-275-6020.  They were from "Northland Group" but said they couldn't tell me the purpose they were calling.  I told them the person they asked for hasn't had the number they called for over 1 1/2 YEARS.  I asked them to please indicate that in their records and not call my number again.  I searched online and Northland Group does accounts receivable collections.  I was not surprised.  I get a few calls a month for the previous owner of my telephone number, assigned to me by Cox Digital Phone after being dormant for only 30 DAYS! (I found out too late to be worthwhile to change it.)  I obtained his name and previous address from Best Buy and Sears, both of which had my number identified with his name.

I have no idea WHY they are calling me. I have no known debts, but if they were trying to get me to pay a debt, hanging up on me when I answer is not likely a good way to accomplish such a thing.

Call usually everyday. They are never there when I answer and never leave a message.  I think they are just an irritation.  I will continue to not take their calls. Maybe they will go away!

I got a call from this number and he asked me by my first name. When I said that is me, he asked me for my address and he said he is a debt collector and he is representing somebody with whom I have credit card debt. I said, if he has my record, then he should have my address. He went about saying some address of another town which I never heard of. Then I knew, this guy is hoax and trying to get my address. I JUST HUNG UP.

Northland Group -- You are a jerk.  Some Hispanic woman is giving out my business cell phone number as hers and has been for over two years.  I do not know her, never have and can barely even pronounce her name.  I have had to send certified letters all over the US to stop these morons from calling me looking for her.

I get phone calls constantly from bill collectors and not only am I NOT Hispanic, (I am a very WHITE woman with a very WHITE name) I answer my phone with my name.  Still these jerks call and ask for her and ask me if I know where she is.    This is when I typically tell them that no, I do not know her, but if I find her I will pinch her head off and spit in the hole.

Unless it's the person who previously owned your phone number who hasn't paid their bills.  Then you're just doomed to endless phone calls until they give up like ten years later.

I'd If they would answer when the phone is picked up our leave a message we would. No reason to be rise.

claims I have never paid loans made by computer.  Never made these loans never heard of the companies involved.  Not listed on any credit report.  Total scam.

You don't need to be rude. My husband is getting harassed from them for them because whoever had his number before isn't paying their bill. So chill a bit.

Keep getting calls from this number, pay all our bills, so not sure why they keep calling. We are on the do not call list also. Wish these would stop!

I pay all my bills, credit score of 800, and yet they still call.
