message seemed to start after caller should have indentified themself.  Have no idea who caller was and indeed if the call was meant for me.

I called it back. They said they were a collection agency and asked for my phone number. I gave it to them, they said that it was for a Ron Leinberg. I told the that no one by that name uses this phone, nor do I know anyone at that name. She said she'd take my number off of her list.

I hope that was legit and not some way to scam their way into my phone or something. Eeek

The automatic message does not identify who they are, what the nature of the call is. They do however mention that it is urgent and to call and speak with one of their agents. I'm not bothering with this nuissance.

I called this number back and got a message. With the name NCN  did a search and this is what i came up with.

They keep calling, even after my wife called back and straightened everything out. She did exactly as they requested. But still they keep calling, this is harassment

They keep calling & harassing me!!

Received a message from 866-276-4793 stating this was a call from EOS for a specific person and that this was not a sales call.

They said that they were ewos Canada Inc with an important business matter
Sounds like a scam to me

It turns out this is a legit collection agency but I also thought it was a scam for a long time.  Whether you answer the call or leave it for voicemail, it's a computer-generated recorded message that says it's not a sales call but a business matter, they give your name, they give their address, and they provide a file number and say please call.  After a few of these, I decided to call, and I immediate went on hold for about 15 minutes.  I tried two more times during the business day and the same thing happened, so I ignored them again for a few more months.  When I still kept getting the exact same stupid message, I decided to try one more time, at 9PM . This time I finally got hold of a real person.  She wanted me to provide my middle name and my birthdate.  Since I still wasn't sure they were legit, I refused to provide such personally identifying information.  She was quite snippy and told me the debt was Trillium Health, but refused to give any further info.  Turns out there was an outstanding ambulance fee (I didn't even know you're supposed to pay for an ambulance if it's a genuine emergency!) and they still had my old address even though I updated  my health card right away when I moved three years ago.  So I paid the hospital accounts directly rather than going through EOS, because I don't like the way they operate.  They really need to do something to make it clear they're legit.  There are too many scams out there for them to operate in such a weird way.
