- KristenThis company calls me repeatedly. Never leaves a message. I called back and the guy answered the phone as, "LTD." I've never lived in Texas... so I've no idea what they want.

- Recession 2009| 5 repliesWell, boys and girls, the Republican economy has forced me stop paying my bills. I work in the Housing Industry and that means times are pretty tough for guys like me, who wear a tool belt and get dirty for a living.
Now, those boys in their nice clean suits, you know, the guys who caused this mess? Well, they got their bail out money, yup, 1.5 Trillion in TARP funds. They all got bonuses too! Job well done!
Which brings us to me and my financial woes. Actually I don't have any woes, because I am officially opting out of the rat race. I hereby declare myself a free man and furthermore I acknowledge no debt to any man. Color me gone, people, you can make my FICO number as low as you like because it just don't matter to me. It's just a number.
You are calling to collect a debt? Good luck with that. Good luck reaching me next time because I've assigned your number to a contact on my phone named IGNORE, you know, the one with the SILENT RING TONE? Yup, call all you want my friend, because I know that's all you can do. Call me and try to impress me with your fake authority or your silly threats about what will happen if I don't pay.
I AM A FREE MAN. You credit card companies can take your TARP money and party like it's 1999 but you're not getting a dime from me. There's not a thing you can do to me, I laugh at you!
Some of you may call me a deadbeat, but I wear your scorn like a badge of honor. The system is based upon us believing in the system, our faith in the system. Well, I am no longer part of your system. The game is rigged and I'm no longer playing. I am a free range man and I do not recognize you as someone I owe a debt too.
Peace and good luck everybody, don't let these clowns ruin your day. Cast off your chains and walk with your head up!
Sincerely..........Recession 2009- Caller: FTD Collection

- Guess Again replies to Recession 2009| 2 repliesI love how people blame the housing industry issues on Republicans. Another reason people should have to pass an IQ test and a test to prove the actually know what is going on before they are allowed to vote. Why don't you go back and see who the president was that signed the SubPrime Lending Legislation that allowed individuals with less than acceptable credit or means to purchase homes they had no business purchasing leading to an industry in default and millions of homes in foreclosure.
- No, don't wake up replies to Guess Again1977 Community Reinvestment Act?
The sub-prime lending at the heart of the current crisis exploded a full quarter century later. In the mid-1990s, new CRA regulations and a wave of mergers led to a flurry of CRA activity, but, as noted by the New America Foundation's Ellen Seidman (and by Harvard's Joint Center), that activity "largely came to an end by 2001." In late 2004, the Bush administration announced plans to sharply weaken CRA regulations, pulling small and mid-sized banks out from under the law's toughest standards. Yet sub-prime lending continued, and even intensified -- at the very time when activity under CRA had slowed and the law had weakened.
Second, it is hard to blame CRA for the mortgage meltdown when CRA doesn't even apply to most of the loans that are behind it. As the University of Michigan's Michael Barr points out, half of sub-prime loans came from those mortgage companies beyond the reach of CRA. A further 25 to 30 percent came from bank subsidiaries and affiliates, which come under CRA to varying degrees but not as fully as banks themselves. (With affiliates, banks can choose whether to count the loans.) Perhaps one in four sub-prime loans were made by the institutions fully governed by CRA.
Most importantly, the lenders subject to CRA have engaged in less, not more, of the most dangerous lending. - I'm with you replies to Recession 2009I'm with you on that one.........free urself..............the game has changed...........only their rules apply..........I'm not playing either.
