866-287-2543

I got a call on my cell phone yesterday and today (both at the exact same time - 5:31 pm CDT on 6-20-07 and 6-21-07).  The number 1-866-287-2543 showed up on the caller ID.  When I answered the phone, there was a recorded message that said to call the 866 number and then a referece number was given.  It gave no names or company identification.

i have the same problem about 3 - 4 times a day with this number its so annoying

got a new phone from virgin mobile monday & this morning I got a call from the number listed above at 8:10 Am (hence my current google search). I have No idea wth this is, they did not leave a name just that it was an attempt to collect a debt. 1. I'm not in debt, 2. i just got this number with my new phone.

3. I'm filing for harassment on the next call. I can't resolve this any other way > the number they left & the number they called out on are both NOT accepting calls.  I work in debt collection (which is why i'm not in debt) and what they just did is illegal= leaving #'s  that cannot be reached (no solution, not allowing a remedy to cure) is harassment. Not leaving a company name is against fdcpa.

btw > to whoever ran up debt on this phone number > I already found who you are. you sure like to play online & give out your number. this time it may backfire.

I had exact same problem getting the annoying call few times a week from same number 866-287-2543 with claiming this is about debt collection and ask me call back with some validation number of 898581 when I do that number says not except incoming calls. If there is a harassment case I sure like to get on it too.

And it turned out to be I had a debt of $26.21 from Siruis Radio which i had no idea of. They never bill me or called me about or mail me so I will give them a call too.

Several times a day including Saturday and Sundays. Always dead air. No idea who would be calling me from the USA in Ontario, Canada

I recived 2 calls so far, both in early morning 8:21 to 9:50 my cell phone.  The computer instructs me to press a number and wait for some guy to answer.  Since I don't know who is calling and think its cazy for my to wait for someone to answer when they called me. I hung-up, also I play for my cell time so why wait.  Maybe they will stop soon.  The only recent purchaes I have don online it with autoparts warehouse and garg.org.

Yeh. I'm 16 years old and they're calling me about some money I owe. Which is tota lly ridiculous. Thay call at all hours and are rude when I ask them to stop calling. They don't even have the right person.

I keep getting these calls as well from this phone number and it is dead air. I contacted the main NCO office to file a complain about these multiple calls and they were supposed to fix this problem but now I am getting them again. They act like they don't know what you are talking about and told me this phone number wasn't one of theres but it is!

im getting calls from this number 2 times a day..and no one is saying anything. its been happening for a month now. how do i make it stop?

They just call and call they do not know what no is, Is it the N or the O they do not get  Lol

They just called me as well, I picked of the phone & it was an recorded message, I did not have a pen so I could write the info down.  Now I did a search & found this server as well one on yahoo & found a phone number you can call & reach someone 1-888-609-2354 -- now I called this number & told the person I just got a phone number, they asked me what my number was I told them my cell phone number, he stated that that was not on file, so I called the number on my cell phone & put it on speaker to show the guy, & he said that he would take me off the list because it was a mistake?? now i am all worried that i  could have a debt out there and not know it!!!

I DON,T OWE any body any money at all

i just switched to rogers and got an iphone and was given a new phone number. all of a sudden i'm getting these calls several times a day. same deal as above.
very frustrating!

Update!
I called back the NCO phone number and after being put on hold i was met with a rather unfriendly representative. I informed her of my situation (as noted in my above post). She said they were looking for (insert name of person they were looking for - which was not me).
I politely informed her that i've been inundated with calls all week and would she mind removing my name/number so as not not be called again.
I was greeted with no apology and nothing more than an affirmative grunt.
We'll see if i get any more calls...very unpleasant company.

This same number calls my cell phone about 5 - 10 times a day. Every time I answer the phone I get an automated voice telling me to "please hold, your call is being transferred"... transferred to what? Who? If someone wants to speak to me so badly that they call 5 to 10 times daily then they shouldn't expect me to hold. Today (June 25, 2009) was the first time I heard a human voice and when she asked for me...or at least I think she asked for me, she couldn't even pronounce my first or last name so I told her she had the wrong number. I'm waiting for them to call back again...

It's a scam it seems. The person called from the above number identifying themselves as a representative of paypal. They claimed they recieved a payment from me and thanked me for it and now need the remaining balance to be paid off. I called paypal after and notified them of this. The rep at paypal told me that they never contact their customers by phone.

BE VERY CAREFUL!

This number has been calling me every day four or five times for the last couple of months ... never anyone there, just dead air :(  a pain in the butt ...
