A recorded message from Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.  Seems legit when I called back, but the ask for SS# and I do not have any accounts with them.  They could not explain why they called, only that perhaps someone entered my phone number in error and I will continue to get calls unless I send written correspondence asking that my number be removed from their database.  I went to the Wells Fargo website and did not see this number listed for customer service in any department.  This number is listed in the Suspicious Numbers section of this website.

Received a call from this number a day after receiving a call from a similar number and I too heard the seemingly legitimate account info.  The person stated that this was an attempt to collect debt and that they needed further info.  I stated that I verified my name and address and that if there was some debt to be collected that info. should be sent to me via the mail and that I would not give them any further personal info. as I didn't feel comfortable doing so.  I have never

Have been getting strange calls for the last 4 or 5 months. We do not answer any calls that we do not recognize anymore and have shut off our answering machine. That is how drastic this has become. Thinking of changing phone number and have unlisted number.

Yes, the calls are from Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. If you know you don't have any business relations with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage then it may be best to answer their call atleast once. It's possible someone is late on their mortgage and stole your identity in buying that home. You never know. It happened to a lady that was trying to buy our house. She never checked her credit in 30 years and found out she owned 2 houses!

I keep getting phone calls from 866-292-3933. I get calls just about every day. Sometimes, several times a day. The company claims to be Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. They ask me for my loan # and Social #. I refused to give the info. I contacted the actual Wells Fargo via email - with whom I do have a loan - listed the number and asked them to verify whether this was them or not. They told me that they were not familiar with the number, and they do not ask to verify personal info over the phone in such a way. Therefore, I want to report 866-292-3933 as fraudulent.

I received a call today and it is indeed Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.  And I have a mortgage with Wells Fargo and I'm late on my payments. It's legit.  Whether you're the one they're looking for is another matter.

Received a call claiming to be about Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.  They asked about a May payment and then said, "Oh, I see your check is in the mail."  And then she giggled and hung up.

I also called the regular customer service number and learned that the 292-3933 number is legit. What they couldn't figure out was why their system called me!

I first called a number I found on the Wells Fargo site. Then I called this number back. It is the same system. I talked to a representative it was Wells Fargo. They wanted to know about a payment that they thought was late. No worries.

I have been a customer of Wells Fargo for over 5 years. I have never paid a payment past the grace period date. I told them when the loan was set up that my check comes for the government on the 3rd. What do they do, set it for the 1st. So every month, when they do not get the payment right on the 1st, they call me every day for a week. I pay by bill pay on the internet through my bank on the 3rd. Can't get it to them any faster than that.

Rude lady told me that I have to make my payments on the 1st. Told her to go suck an Easter egg today. The payment was made 5 days ago and gave her the confirmation number. Told her next time they keep calling and not leaving a messages, I would call the police and file harassment charges.

WF says this IS NOT WF. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY PERSONAL INFO. It sounds legit and perhaps the people calling think they are legit. Actually I think it is a collection agency that fronts as WF because they have to disclose that they are attempting to collect a debt. This type of front should be illegal and they must be in coherts with WF or they couldn't do it and get away with it. WF pretends it's not them.

Called 3 times and didn't leave any message. Could be Wells Fargo, but why no message?

I received a call from this number 866.292.3933 asking that I call them about my mortgage payment. The problem is I do not own a home.

I received a call from this number too, and double-checked it by a) asking questions about my mortgage that only they would know and b) later calling a known good number for Wells Fargo, calling back to this number, and having the Wells Fargo person confirm the other operator's identity (through finding them on Outlook).  So it appears it really is Wells Fargo - why they're calling you may be a diff story.

This is Wells Fargo Home Mortgage they are calling for one of several reasons.  You are late with your payment or they are foreclosing on your home, just to name a few.  Anyway there is no reason that you should be worried about this number.

This is legit. I too have been getting the calls. Did not call the number but instead went to wellsfargo.com, called the listed number and it was confirmed. I was told it was just an automatic dialer that dials when your pymt is not made on the 1st. Nevermind the 15 day grace period. For example my check hit on the 5th, so I made it then. You can however call in and if your loan is in good standing asked to be taken off the auto dialer list.

They pose as different companies like Capital One, Wells Fargo among others. No legit company would ever ask for SS#. Wake up people, these people are SCAM ARTIST these numbers have no affiliation with whom they claim they are. I report all these numbers every time i get them. I report them to the Do Not Call site, The FTC, FBI and the FCC. If you so called "Debt Collectors" are reading this and want to kept bugging people like me who have no business or debt with you people like you. Then I will report you every time you call my number. Maybe enough complaints and these criminal acts will be shut down.  I would encourage everyone to call and report them.

i changed my number from a previous...." private caller " type number...there where times when the private caller number would  ring...for 2  hours...with 3 minute intervals....since i changed my number...i get this humber...about...2 times a week...i never answer it...and won't....i do not know who is calling...but it is so annoying....at least ...i have quiet...99% of the time...thank ..god..

a small warning...changing your phone number does help,,,where you do have peace and quiet....but there are occaisions...where these ignorant people still call...i do not answer either....and have not ever done busineess with them....actually i do not know who they are or who they are looking for....sounds like they are predators...of a sort...register you number with the do not call.gov...that does help helped me before....

I have the same issue with Wells Fargo. They call every month from the number posted on here and other numbers.  They are jerks. They always say do you intend to stay in the home? I pay my bill before the grace period to and I pay it through my bank every month but it does not always get posted to them on the first so they start calling right away. I told them today to stop calling me that they are harassing me. They tried to tell me it is late if not paid on the first of the month as well but that is not what my bill says every month. Grhhhh!!!
