I received a call from a man named "Jacob" who asked me to call him back.  I called back and "Jacob" was on another call but Jennefier worked with him and would be able to handle my call.  We talked and she offered to sell my motorcycle, that I've listed on Craig's List, for me for only $199.00.  She indicated that they already had buyers looking for a motorcycle like mine and they were sure to have a buyer for me soon.  She also said that if I had accept less than what I was asking for they would refund back to me $170.00 of the $199.00 that I would pay.  It sounds fishy to my.

I also recieved a call from "Jacob". When i called back he was in the other line and a lady named "Judy" said that she could handle the call. She also said that they had some buyers for my 1936 Dodge Truck that i have for sale on craigslist. She also told me that i had to pay a one time fee of $199.00, and if i sold my car outside of their "business" they would refund only $170.00 they would only keep a "small" fee of $29.00 dollars for their service.

Same call from Jacob with Longwood Company, a 501c3 company.  Did not bother to call back after seeing the "Alan", "Judy", "Jacob", etc posts from different 866 or 800 numbers with the same scam.  Thanks for all the postings making us aware of this hype.

Same call from Jacob Reed.  Not going to call them back after reading above messages.  Thanks for the heads up. Screw you scammers.

yeah. me too. Jacob Reed,Judy called me also. same info as all you. said I wanted to research there company " AMS auto sales" all I found in my search was a small lot in Ft.Meyers Fl.what a bunch of [***].SCAM. someone has to shut them down.

Got a call as well from "Jacob" about my vehicle listed on Craiglist. I stuff listed, but no vehicle.  It's obvious they're just harvesting phone numbers from Craiglist and not actually reading the posts.  Thanks for the warning on this scam.

bunch of scammers harvesting phone numbers off craigslist. I did not have a vehicle for sale and when "jacob" called i asked him which vehicle and he could not give me an answer but wanted $199 to sell it for me... yea right... like i would give someone my visa number

Also received a call from "Jacob", i already dont answer blocked or 800 type numbers. He left a message on my phone stating the same as the other commenters stated. This was 4 May 2009. I will not call this number back because of the comments left and also thanks to Google for helping me find this non sense.

I also received a call from Jacob Reed about a vehicle I have for sale on Craig's list.  He had left a message on my answering machine.  I'm glad I checked it out before I called.  Jacob claimed his company would connect me to a buyer for my vehicle.  What a crock!  Thanks for the warning!

Something just happened to me today. Jacob called me and left a message. When I called back I was talking to Andrea instead. I told her I would call back after she asked for my credit card. I did research the company on bbb.org and found nothing. Then I google and find this page. I'm so happy I didn't fall for this scam. I'm going to post something on craigslist about Jacob Read, to warn others.

Me too received the same call from Jacob. It seems this is a real scam call.

I also recieved a call but did not list my phone # on the craigslist site. I have not listed my phone number anywhere but on the vehicle.

What area have you all received the calls in. This can also pin point where the scammers are comming from.

Jacob called me too regarding my Craig's List add.  I had my cellphone number listed in the add, but he called me on my home phone?  How did he get this number?  No caller ID info for Jacob and his "501c3" Longwood Inc. business.  Glad I looked here first, I'm sure it's a scam and have no intentions of calling him back.  He sounds very legit - however, he said he had buyers interested in my car... I have a boat listed.  Scam...

My caller identified himself as "Brad".  Same scam. Don't fall for it!

I have had "Jacob Reed" call me last week and TODAY, leaving the same message.  I did post an ad on craigslist to sell my scooter, and my number was included.  This says SCAM all over it and I'm glad I did my research on this before bothering to call back.

Actually have a car listed on Autotrader. Got the same call from "Jacob Reed". Since I actually work for a 501-c-3 company, I immediately got suspicious. Thanks to all the others who posted

same as other posts - got a message left though from I think a Michael, longwood inc.  saying they could sell 'it' - so not even referencing what I actually had put on Craigslist.  total scam - thanks for all the input on the other posts.

I also got a call from Longwood Inc, but decided to check them out on the internet.  The caller ID showed "unavailable"  I don't answer these calls, but "Brad" left a voice mail.  Same thing.  They have a buyer interested, for a small fee, etc. etc.  I guess all sorts of people look at Craig's list.
