Called for my sister, said its important, wouldn't give out any detail of the reason for calling.  The funny thing is this is not my sister's residence nor phone number.  Checked with her and has no idea who they are let alone any outstanding bills she may owe.

Just called looking for my husband, the lady was polite but very persistent over what time she could find him home, she did leave a reference number, her name and said the call was from the law office of Mitchell N K

These people are bottem feeder law firms, they are trying to collect on outstanding bills that have long been gone or written off.
In my opinion these people are as low as it gets.

Got call no message, have gotten a few. I assume it's telemrkt or collections. No messages left not important - right?

this so-called co. called looking for a family member who once lived with me IN ANOTHER STATE more than FOUR YEARS AGO.  they had the name backwards and I didn't bother to correct them... wouldn't give me any info because 'it was personal business'.  when I told her that she obviously did some kind of trace in order to get MY new number in  another state, she got quiet and then wanted to leave a message.... reminded her "the person doesn't live with me"... go away...... my relative is disabled, on SS and medicaid..... we KNOW that the old debts were paid because we all chipped in to help.  what a bunch of rats they are....!

THEY NEVER TELL ME WHAT THEY ARE CALLING FOR THEY ASK FOR MY SOCIAL NAME AND DATE OF BIRTH AS IDENTIFICATION. i IDENTIFY MY SELF AS WHO I SAID I WAS YOU DONT NEED TO VERIFY ANYTHING ELSE AND THEY WONT TELL ME ANY INFORMATION. They call & they say they are from the law office of william seagull they are a scam debt collector from india they try to collect on debt that isnt there's when i ask if they are from India they say they are not but they are scams

This is the first time I've received a phone call from them. The woman told me she is with William Siegel and Associates and told me I was in outstanding debt and the call would be recorded with my consent. When I asked what I was in debt for she told me I had to give her my consent first, so I did. She then proceded to ask for the last 4 digits of my social to verify it was me. When I refused to give it to her she told me my last 4 digits and asked if it was correct. I told her no although it was correct and she started to argue with me telling me I owe Direct Tv $900 when I've never had Direct tv! I'm not sure what to do.

Called my cell phone at 8 am looking for Jonathan, I repeated that name twice to confirm that he wasn't calling me, before telling him he had the wrong number. He never gave any info who he was working for, but it sounded like a call center, so these are just some type of bottom feeder debt collectors.

People who have received calls from this number.. i have also.. i immed asked to speak to the supervisor...i told him to take the number off the dialer..


i have worked in collections previously...if you tell them you are going to report them to the FTC (federal trade commission) and also the DA's office if they call you again...they will quickly remove you from the dialer..as consumers you have rights...also known as FDCPA laws...


please use this info to your advantage with any debt collecting agency..if you tell them to stop calling then they have to....they asked for my name etc..i refused to give it to them..it wasnt even me they were calling for! and i have had this number for 4+ years

no name on caller i.d. No message that I'm aware of. If it's a debt collector then they have the wrong number. I just ignore or unplug the phone.

Third time in one month we get a call from this number. If we do not know the caller we do not answer. Caller does not leave a voicemail message, so caller can go pound sand.

From the sounds of the voice and background noise, it does appear to originate from India.  Don't know why they are calling me.

I received a call on my cell phone from this number- it was a digitized sounding voice with a weird, almost British accent.  They asked me to call back and left a reference number, saying they were from a debt collector, william w seigel.  I am sure this is a scam of some sort, since I have impeccable credit.  Also, are these people somehow scamming on T-Mobile customers? I do have a T-Mobile account that is currently paid up, I just checked my account to make sure.  I am not sure what to do...

They have been calling me for a year about someone else. I finally found this and wrote them a letter to stop.  Magic.

Write them and mail a CERTIFIED letter that you do not wand to be contacted by them any more.

You can write a letter to the agency telling it not to contact you by phone, not to call at certain times or locations, or not to make any further contact at all. This last request does entitle the collector to contact you one more time to inform you of what, if any, action it intends to take to collect the debt, but not to threaten you. (See Part 6). You should send such a letter by certified mail and request a return receipt. If the company has a fax number, send the letter by both fax and by mail. Understand, telling the collection agency not to contact you should stop the phone calls, but it won't stop the collection efforts.

As of July 1, 2010, rules adopted by the FTC and the federal banking agencies allow you to dispute inaccurate information directly with the company that furnished it. This includes a debt collector that reports information to a credit bureau.

In a related matter, the FTC issued an advisory opinion regarding the dispute rules as they relate to debt collectors that report information to credit bureaus. Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) a debt collector may not contact you if you requested in writing that communications stop. This FDCPA section, the FTC says, would not prevent the debt collector from responding to your direct dispute under the FCRA.

William Segal, debt collection called for me today.  I don't owe crap to anyone so I googled it and came up with this site.  I figured it was a scam but I am pretty sure they are hooking a few other people.  Disgusting and thank the maker for the internet so we can find out about this is crap.

I'm going to tell them I'm related to steven segal and see if that works for a joke!
