    tired of bogus collections
This phone number is with NCO debt collector.  I don't know why they are still allowed to be in business because they make bogus claims that you owe someone money.  Sure the try to collect on real debts, but they also try to collect on debts paid 20 years ago, or make something up.  Don't' talk to them!  They will NOT help settle your debt.  They will get you into debt by making you defend yourself on a claim (that is most likely bogus).  Once you talk to them they can put a bad mark on your credit report.  Just hang up and don't explain anything to them.  If you do have a legitimate debt, deal directly with them...period.  NCO is the most unscrupulous, unethical, horrible company I have seen in a very long time..

Also, BEWARE of phone number (201) 845-5400 (Commercial Credit based in N.J.).  They are in cahoots with NCO.  They claim to want to help you, but they are as bad as NCO.

Don't make the mistake of even talking with them.  You do NOT owe them an explanation of anything.

    tired of bogus collections
Just want to clarify the sentence "If you do have a legitimate debt, deal directly with them...period. "  I mean deal directly with the company you have your original debt with...don't deal with any collection company.

Years ago I did have a debt to a dentist.  A collection company tried to collect from me.  I told them that I would take care of my debt, but any monies I paid would be paid directly to, and mailed directly to, my dentist and NOT any collection agency.

If you make payments on your debt, there is nothing anyone can do legally (other than put the debt obligation on your credit report).  Sure, they can threaten you and scare you...that is how they make money....don't fall for it!

This company is unreal!  They claim to be 'Captial Management Group' when they called me on my cell.   The debt their referencing was transferred to another agency and settled.  When trying to explain 'this is not a valid debt', I was yelled at with "I don't want to hear your excuses, why aren't you just going to pay it".  They asked for my payroll dept information in order to garnish my wages - I don't think so! There has to be something we can do?!

I don't owe anyone anything for 10 plus years now. Not even credit cards and credit score is near perfect. So why the call and how did they get my unpublished cell phone number? All I can figure is that it is bogus. It is just computer generated. Just another money scheme by the under belly of humanity. What some people won't do for the almighty dollar. I can't wait to see how they get through the eye of a needle....

This is not a valid company - I have them leave a message that tells you call them and the number no matter the time the company is not open or after hours DO NOT TALK TO THESE PEOPLE - if you owe anyone a debt - then contact the original holder of the debt.

I am slightly concerned now, this number called me and claimed I owed on a bill for an account I had cancelled and paid off a few years ago. I asked them to explain why they were trying to collect after so long and why the company hadn't contacted me and the lady on the other end got really nasty telling meif I would just pay my bills I wouldn't have this problem. I asked to speak to her manager to complain and she passed off the phone to some guy who wouldn't listen to me, but kept trying to force some payment plan down my throat and telling me how irresponsible I was. I hung up after telling him his mother must not have hugged him enough and then called the company they claimed to represent. The company's records agreed with mine, there was no debt or record of them turning my account over for collections...ever.

My concern is that since I allowed them to draw me into a conversation of sorts, does that count as acknowledging the debt? I get monthly credit reports so I will watch to see if it pops up.

if we all fight this out they will be stopped. im recently in a situation where a skin product striaex sends me a free trialed product. they never contact me before about payments and the so call dept collectors have no legal note writte about these payments. I know it is illegal to put someone up for a dept when they have nothing to say that this company is authorized for these charges.

.We have no unpaid debt.   We have NEVER had an unpaid debt.  We have been meticulous about finances and have always paid cash or paid debts EARLY.  Way early.  This call came in at 8:24 this morning.  if memory serves me right...that in itself is illegal because it is before 8:30.
We have been getting calls from this company for years.  The calls subsided after I made complaints against them with the National Do Not Call Registry. That was months back.  We are on the National DO NOT CALL LIST & because we have not had contact or business from this company, their calls to us are considered telemarketer calls.  I imagine fines are waged against them for calling registered numbers.  Go online,to the Nat'l do not call list.  Once your number is registered...it takes 31? days for it to take effect, then if you had no business transactions with them, you can start filing complaints against Transworld.   These calls have started up again and believe me, I am filing a complaint for every last call & hope they get fined for every one.  Be sure to record date & time the call came, the number & contact names.  So get going & register and start filing complaints!!!

I have been getting calls from this company for years. They do not identify who it is they are looking for. I can guess who it probably is but how would I know if they don't so who. Even if it is that person, it is not a person who ever lived here. I just know it is not us they are looking for. Not only have we never had an unpaid bill...ever. Years ago I tried returning their calls but only got an answering machine with a recorded message. I have looked these guys up online. There are blogs this company harasses people to collect bogus debts. I no longer return calls because I am not going to get involved with this company, especially because they participate in shady practices, especially if it is something that has nothing to do with anyone in this household. From what I understand, if you have been on the National Do Not Call List for 31 days or more, and you have no business with this company (as is my case) turn them in with a complaint to National Do Not Call. I have started filing a complaint for every last call and will continue to do so until this stops. I will also continue letting everyone know to get on the Do Not Call List so everyone can file complaints. I hope they get a fine with every complaint. Hitting them in the pocket should get through to them.
