I keep getting called by a Mr. McCausland about some "debt" that I owe to him. I do not deal with credit as I am a crackhead and this guy keeps calling me! What the hell?!?! 1.866.393.9105 X 2209 is his number! He is extremely belligerent, persistent, and conducts himself in the most juvenile of ways. I cannot believe they let people like him into my city. He even threatened to kick my dog..wtf people he is a phone thug.

Someone called me from 1.866.393.9105 and it sounded pretty serious and requested a call back immediately.  I will call them back first thing tomorrow to resolve my issue before it is too late as they do have options available to assist me.

I kept getting called from a Mr depola? 18663939105 ext 2202 about a claim number that sounded important.  At first i thought it was a scam but after repeated phone calls and messages from him, I finally called him back.  It appears I had an overdue account with Direct Energy that I didn't even know about!  Mr. Depola was very courteous and assisted me in getting my account back to current status with a payment arrangement that fit my personal situation.  He was polite and considerate and did not yell at me like other collection agencies have in the past.  I would recommend calling back before it's too late as they can only help you and prevent escalation for so long before Direct Energy (or whoever) decides what action to take due to no response.

    call from 18663939105 x 2202

Being difficult with anyone calling from this number, regardless of their race, is counterproductive.  If they have your number and are calling you, IT IS FOR A GOOD REASON.

    1) But you don't owe any money? > You might not think so...I had my wallet stolen a few years back and months was applying for credit when a Hudson's Bay credit card that had been written of with a balance of $6K showed up on my credit bureau!  My driver's licence had got into the wrong hands and the perpetrator worked the system with The Bay's credit system to scam them out of $6K of stuff using my name.

    2) They ask, 'My I ask who I am speaking to' because they want to make sure they are talking to the CORRECT PERSON.  Google FOIP.  A reputible company like CTL follows it closely.  Their collections specialists also don't want to waste their time talking to someone who has nothing to do with the responsibility to pay for the debt.

    3) You do not get an answer when you call back because there is no reason for a collection company to take messages from customers who owe money and habitually break promises to pay.

The person I spoke to, let's call him Steve, was courteous, professional, intelligent, firm and good at his job.  This is coming from a person who worked in collections for around 3 years.  Keep up the good work Steve!

I received a voice mail from a woman, Deann, from the CPL Law office, to call her back with My case number at 1 866-393-9105 ext: 3401. She gave me 2 options 1) right of settlement, pay my $5,247.24 outstanding Yellow Pages debt by 4:30pm today or 2) get a lawyer to represent me in court at $4500, along with the initial Dept and $9,000 court fees, "cost and litigatin" when I'm sued in court. Also stating that I if I don't pay the $5247.24 yellow pages bill in full, within the next 4 hours that it will end up costing me $25,000 - $30,000 when they sue me. Even escalating the intimation to by threatening to seize my assets, freezing my bank accounts and racking up costs to $52,000.00. I think she meant $5,200.00, but she was clearing trying to intimate me into paying by yelling at me, and fast talking! She said she was being curtious by giving me a call and a chance to pay before serving me. I wondered why Yellow Pages didn't try calling or mailing me or even sending my debt to collection before suing me!? I also wondered why my initial debt more than doubled. She kept repeating that I'm over 19 so I can be sued for fraud. She even played a recording of my voice durring a verbal contract agreement with yellow pages. When I called back later after finding this page I confronted her about potential scam. She got madder and said she's calling from a law office. She asked me for my email to send info and I told her I don't feel comfortable giving information, she said see you in court and hung up. I believe she didn't try harder to seek payment in the 1st convo because I told her that I'm a struggling small business owner and don't have much money. And because I called her on her scam in the 2nd convo, obvy. She really had me going at 1st. It's clear that she has access to debt files. I told her that this is inhumain. I'm a human being and so is she, we are level and she has no right to talk down to me in such a degrading way, when I simply asked her about the details of what I owe. This type of behaviour will never fly in courts. It's an intimation tactic SCAM! Don't fall for the bullying. Noone has the authority to treat another person like [***]. On another note: this is much like the call I recieved 6 months ago regarding tax fraud where they stated I'm getting picked up and taken to jail if I don't pay $5,000 immediately. Or the scam call last month for money laundering because I have "27 bank accounts" asking me for my sin number. They all had east Indian accents and were very aggressive. The 4th scam 2 months ago was an Asian man claiming that he was going to send someone to put car decals on my vehicle for $500 a month. Sending me a fake cheque with a legit law office stamp on it. Telling me to cash the $2,500 cheque, keep $500 for myself and buy gift cards and send em to the decal installation tech who conveniently couldn't make the installation appointment but needed to be paid before their arrival. He was also aggressive. Gut instinct is key. Don't let it ruin your day! Very best regards.

Woops typo. CTL* 1866-393-9105. Www.Ctllaw.com look like a legit company who say they handle debt collection in a civil, kind way, with lawyers backing the debt collection process, and they probably are! But the number on their site is different from 1866-393-9105 and the person who called me had the polar opposite dimener that that website shows in their ads. Scams often pose as legit companies. The money laundering scam even had the same answering system as service Canada! They go a long way to come off as legit. It's appalling how many of em their are and how many ppl fall for it! Watch your back! I can't believe this number has been scamming since 2013. Oh em gee!!
