- loseran operator called me and said someone sent me a message saying they loved me, using my name when they said it. i want to know how they know my name and who the person was! i got it on my voice mail...
- DieterIts an IP relay service. People type stuff for them to say, they call the number and say it. It supposed to be used by deaf people who cannot use phones, but as you all have noticed, its common to be used for prank phone calls.
- Caller: IP relay
- NICOLEThe number 18663944494 called me and said that my ex-boyfriend was typing on the computer and the operator was telling me everything he was trying but what scared me the most was that he knew everything my ex-boyfriend knew.
- jroaewmy friend called me on it and we were just talking through that because it was funny. it's not some creep calling you pretending they know everything about you; it's someone you know who is having their message relayed through the operator to you.
- freaked callersome caller relay thing called my phone and the person who was sending stuff knew my name. I'm kinda freaked
- geethis number called my daughters phone and it is a little freaky, since they used a friend of hers name and said they loved her. Her friend never made the call. I would like to have this number investigated due the fact it could be dangerous to kids.
- Caller: ?
- P.I.M.Pthey called and asked from my mom saying that i said hi wen i was like right next to her.....they even called at like 2 in the freaking morning....

- devin grimi am a 12 year old female who recieved a relay call on my cell phone on 4/4/08 at 5:12 p.m. the operator said that i had a relay call from somebody. i asked who it was and their reply was " its okay sweetie. i know you." i asked if they knew they were talking to a 12 year old girl. i thought they may have had the wrong number. They said " thats okay, i like 12 year old girls." thats when i knew something was wrong, so i said, if they didnt tell me who they are i am going to hang up. the operator asked the person and the reply that i got was " i am going to find you, and i will have fun with you." i told the operator to report the person to the police because they scared me and seemed psychotic. the operator just said. im sorry ma'am you have to speak slower i have to write down what you are saying. i told him not to call me again.
- Caller: GoAmerica
- nonameoperater called and explained what relay was and they knew my name and said is that really you you [***] [***] and then the operater was like sorry they jsut disconnected and hung up. weird? i guess its just a prank call
- RamonI received a call from this number, with the caller providing very specific information about where I was at that exact time. You can ask the relayer to block the IP address (the computer that the caller is using), so that you won't receive any more calls from there. Not that that helps if they use a different computer, though. Wow, that was a very unsettling experience, though....
- ziedahwho is this calling me? And why is he/she calling?
- CrystalAfter being extremely ticked off because of the phone call my boyfriend just got from this number, I found out that the service is really for deaf people to make phone calls. All these "I'm your ex-girlfriend/boyfriend" calls are someone that you know pranking you. The operator isnt the one at fault. They are just doing their job. A relay service is just like text messaging someone from the computer, and the operator is just the middle-man. It's a punk way of making a prank phone call without us hearing the voice of the person actually calling. It's pretty sad that people abuse a service that is supposed to be used for a good cause.
- Truthit's a service that anyone with internet can use, for free. It's basically a text message read back to the caller it's intended for by a real person.
It's a service that was meant for the hearing impaired or deaf, but ultimately has been abused by pranksters. If the information about you is real in a call from them, chances are it's been sent by someone who knows you. Ask for an IP address if you can. Also pay attention to the message-- you might find a clue to point you to someone who knows you. - da_wifeyi recieved a call from this number and they said it was a relay and than they were calling me a [***] and they knew my name, and thta i live with my inlaws and that i have a baby with my man...they called me a [***] and all kinds of other names i then told them i was my mother in law and they disconnected....weird but i would llike to know who it was
- Caller: 800 service
- Bronson ClarkThey called my girlfriend one night at midnight and called me shortly after. I tried to ask who it was but of course they never told me. Is there any way of knowing who it was?
- K WalkerMy son got a call yesterday from this number and it was a prank. The operator told him she had someone on the line and to speak slowly. No one has his number EXCEPT for family and friends and our guess is that someone randomly called his number as a prank because we have no one who's hard of hearing in our family/friends that would use this service.
I advised him to just hit 'ignore' if that call comes in again in the future.
