- CathappyI keep getting calls from this number for someone who I have never heard of but they will not stop calling.
- CindyI just got a call from a commputer from this number. It said to call them back concerning an unpaid debt. Well, I do not have an unpaid debt, and I have researched several sites with a lot of people complaining about this number and the bad, nasty calls they are getting.
I am not calling them back, and I suggest that no one else call them either. They have call blocking, so their number does not come up on caller ID.- Caller: 1-866-429-3597
- Hate these callsWe receive these calls everyday!!!! FInally we get a person on the phone and the staff is very rude. Come to find out they do buy old credit card records for businesses. They claim I have a SEARS account and never did, never would - I always hated sears. They were asked to send documents proving the account and they never did. The operator today was asked the same, to send documents and she told me that it must be an error and they will look into it. Her records showed I made this request six years ago and they never sent the paperwork. I made the mistake of saying I remember a call like this six years ago and she then stated oh yeah I see it here in the computer. So I fed info to her (my mistake). Well from net reasearch they are a fraululent company trying to collect on no accounts
- Caller: assest care collection
- carolThis company has called me for days. I called them back one time and asked them if they were a collection agency and the very rude girl would not say anything but the company name. She wanted me to tell her my phone number and when I wouldn't she said in a very ugly voice that she wasn't giving out any more information and YOU HAVE A NICE DAY. THEN HUNG UP.....
- DaveThis company has called me for a lot with recorded msg with no name attached. Called back, they never stop. Is there any thing we can do to stop people doing this kind of abuse?
- CaroleThis number has been coming up on the caller ID on my cell at least twice a day for the last two weeks. There was one computer recorded message stating the law required I be notified this was a call to collect a debt, to call assetcare mngment & reference a file number. I saved the vm msg & have been locking every call that comes in. There has only been one msg left, all other calls that come in do not leave a msg.
Last week I saw an article where some so called debt collection agencies are popping up, buying old financial information (deliquent, paid and/or closed accts) and trying to collect on them - even if statutes of limitation have expired.- Caller: Assetcare Management
- SherriOH My gosh!!!! I recieved aletter from them today. So I called. They got $550.00 out of me for an outstanding credit card debt from 1987. Is this leagal!!! I am so stupid!!
- Caller: NCO Portfolio management
- dsGot a call from this company about my cousin who die sevearl months ago. Don't know who this is but they need to be stopped.
- Asset Care / NCO Full of BllRead this:Suing the borrower to collect debt: The Statute of Limitations is the legal time limit a creditor has to file a lawsuit against the debtor for failing to pay a debt, and the time limit depends upon a few factors: the state in which the debtor lives, whether the debt is oral or written, and whether the account is “open-ended” (eg. credit card account) or close ended (eg. installment sales contract). To find these limitations for your state, . Suing or threatening to sue after a statute of limitations has run out violates the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and if a debtor believes a lawsuit was filed after the time period expired, a lawyer should be contacted immediately to defend the case. If true, the lawyer’s fee will most likely be paid by the creditor.
NOW BE CAREFUL IF YOU CHOOSE TO SPEAK WITH THEM!!! READ BELOW
Be careful when dealing with collectors because a debtor can inadvertently restart the limitations clock. Remember, it starts from the date of “last activity” on the account. This could mean that if a debtor makes a payment on an old debt (or even agrees to an extended repayment plan) or even acknowledges the legitimacy of the debt, the statute of limitations could be extended or restarted altogether. Although a creditor cannot sue after the expiration of the statute of limitations has expired, it can still try to persuade you to pay, including calls and letters. Remember that a legitimate debt is truly erased only when it’s paid in full or erased in bankruptcy.

- CathieJust got a call on my cell. I know who these people are as they sent me a letter stating I had unpaid debt of 151.78 with interest so I owe thm 464.76.for a debt from 17 Years ago. Not only did I never have this debt. The company it's supposed to be for is in New York. I have lived in CA all my life. Also, it's supposed to be for Lane Bryant. Last time I checked this is a store for large women. I haven't weighed over 130 lbs my entier life.
These people are very, very rude. I am sending a certified letter to them to cease and desist. Also, you may want to file against them and there affiliates (There are many) with the FTC and the BBB - Good Luck- Caller: Assetcare, Inc.
- AshleyI got a letter in the mail. I apparently owe $168.00 the letter was regarding me but sent to my father. I been above the age of 18 for several years now and dont even live at my father why would bills be sent there? So i gave a ring and after talking to 2 women who sound the same i hung up because i was waiting too long on line. I called again an asked about the bill. They figured i wasn't my father and i asked to see where this debt was coming from. I do not have debt and I am careful with money matters. I said well I think this is a scam and i will take this to the state police and she got snotty and told me to have a nice day. I called back got the same woman and asked her if this was a real debt company she said it was. I said well provide me with information, she said i need permission from my father. I said that i was an adult and that i am 22 ( I lied i wasn't giving them any information that they should already have if they were real). I told her that her business was wrong and to politely to go to hell and have a good day. I wasn't gonna let her be rude to me anymore. So now i am going to see if the phone calls stop which i find that my father get everyday.

I didn't answer the call. They left no msg. I called the number and got "Hello" as if it was someone's home. It 11pm my time.
These people are taking a shot in the dark... They dont even know who they are calling. They take a chance that the person who answers will be stupid enough to give them personal info and also hope that the really stupid person will send them a check.
Believe me, sending them money, letters or asking to be removed from the list wont get you anywhere. They have nothing to lose and everything to gain.- Caller: They wouldn't say.
- drdarkeMessage from "Adnet" or "Advent" or "Asset" "Care" to collect a debt - recording, I assume. I may be on the edge of my credit cards, but I don't owe anyone right now - so WTF?
- Caller: "Adnet" or "Asset Care"
- NonesuchI receive calls repeatedly stating that they come from Asset Care Financial Systems Inc. and are seeking to collect a debt. I have no debts over a month old and none I’m behind on or ever failed to pay.
The latest call requested I call 1-866-429-3597 and speak to someone whose name sounded like Wyrick Lamber.
I find that Asset Care is owned by NCO Financial Systems Inc. and that NCO has been sued numerous times for violation of the Fair Collection Practices Act.
I’ll NEVER speak to these folks personally but WILL phone their numbers then just set the handset down until the phone lets me know it’s been disconnected…if they want to waste my time I’ll try to waste theirs!- Caller: Asset Care Financial Systems, Inc
