Caller claimed to be from NRA...asking for donations

Since most all of those being called are NRA members.....

Constantly calls.  Never identifies so we don't pick up.

I just answered a call from this number, nobody talked when I answered, I just heard a bunch of clicking...so I hung up :/

NRA is correct!
But, it is National Recovery Agency! Debt Collection Agency!

It is not Nation Rifleman's Association, they have more Class than to do that! They do need monies to help with the fight for our Basic Freedom's, but I have had calls from them and they will leave a message or I have talked with a real person!
I am a Patron Member of National Rifleman's Association and have been a member for 35 years.
If you have doubts about the calls, call them direct and check it out.

Thanks John, I keep getting calls from this number too. I never pick them up. If they can't leave a message, I ignore them and they NEVER leave a message.

That is incorrect.  If you call the number back, it says it's the National Rifle Association.  It is NOT the collection agency.  Call it and see, it is a recording.

I bet the next call will be on Jan 23 sometime in the morning. Two things come to mind, NRA and SHOTSHOW.  

I don't know who calls because I don't say anything and it cuts off.

I may be a long time member of NRA but I do not respond to anonymous phone calls. If this is the NRA and they want to talk to me, then they better prepare to display who they are.

Answer and they hang up. NRA makes sense, but as mesaman says, if they want to talk to someone here, they need to display who they are.

I'm not so sure it is an American 866 number. On my phone, it displays as +86 64315117, like a number calling from China. I never answered, and never call back.

This is the National Rifle Association.  Just called today, 5/19/2014, wanting donations to fight the campaign against Obama/Bloomberg gun ban.  Donate and get a sweet knife, I guess at least that is what I was told.  I didn't get one, maybe next time.

The actual NRA does NOT have a hold message as ALL their numbers are menu driven so you get pointed toward the correct department as in Membership, Shooting Sports, Instructors, Programs, etc. If you don't believe this, check out the Agruss Law Firm as they are suing on behalf of people receiving phone calls from National Recovery Associates LLC for calls from 866-431-5117!

Additionally, everybody who is with the NRA is in Dallas, TX this week for the NRA Convention starting today and not even the operator is at the NRA Headquarters, so who would be making phone calls from the National Rifle Association today?!

Radar, your 'radar' must be broken, Had you called the number, you would se it was teh National Rifle Association, of which I am a Life Member.

I just received a call from this number, 866-431-5117. I did not answer and did a search on the number. I found a post from a law firm talking about the National Recovery Agency and they had a lengthy list of the numbers used by them and this is one of them. I see that some people have called the number back and said they identified themselves as the National Rifle Association. It is not the National Rifle Association. The person answering the phone is trying to scam you out of your credit card number.

This is NOT the National Rifle Association, it is a scumball "debt collection company" called the National Recovery Agency.  Many people are blaming the National Rifle Association just because they don't do the research, or worse, hate guns,  and so wish to create a bad reputation for them any way they can.  The NRA (National Rifle Association) DOES NOT ROBOCALL.  These people answer the phone (when they do) with just "NRA" rather than their full name, National Recovery Agency, which further leads to confusion, because most people calloing to see who it is hang up at that point without learning the truth.  They even call people such as I who have NO outstanding debts.  Do a little research, people, and stop claiming it is the National Rifle Association.
