I actually star69 and got this number 925 776 2903, it asks for english or spanish speaking and then cuts off.

somebody from this number keeps calling my parents house of all places asking for me. they wont give out any information to my wife. and the people who call sound like they are from india and cant understandmy folks. anyone know who these people are?

a gentleman asked for me and for me to call him at this number. he did sound like he was from india, he stated his name as a mr. edison.

This is Bay Area Credit Services. They have been harrassing me since February this year, asking for "Theresa" and won't stop. They have several different phone numbers, as they are a corporation. They called me from a different number until I sent a certified letter to cease and desist calling me, then they started calling me from this number. Does anyone know if there's a class action lawsuit?

They having been calling me non-stop from several different numbers.  First was the 1-800-697-1234, then 866-392-4170, now 866-471-9387.  I have sent two letters to their po box in Atlanta, GA, one I sent certified and was signed by Courtney Day. I agree with the other posting that this is a man with an Indian accent and probably calling from outside the US.  Beware, they told be I had an outstanding bill due to a local ambulance.  Upon investigation, I owe nothing.  It's a big scam.

I received two calls from this number (1-866-471-9387).  I called them back and asked who they were trying to reach.  They gave me the name and address of the person they were trying to reach.  I told them I wasn't the person they were trying to reach and I don't know the person they are trying to reach.  I also informed them I was filing a complaint with the Do Not Call Registry (which I did).  We'll see what happens.

I got someone's old phone number 2 1/2 years ago that had bad credit and I've been receiving calls ever since from collection agencies.  I have found the only way to stop these collection agencies from calling is to either get a new phone number or call them back and let them know they are calling the wrong number.  If you don't do anything, they will keep on calling.  My number was in the local hospital's collection agency with six different people assigned to it!

The only reason I haven't gotten a new phone number is because of the hassle factor.

Wow this is great. They've been calling me for the last 6 months, asking for a Laverence (my name is Lawrence by the way) and saying that I have a past ambulance bill.

I've only been in an ambulance ONE TIME MY ENTIRE LIFE! and that was paid off by the other driver that hit me. Plus the fact that, the car accident was before I got this cell phone number. this [***] is impossible.

So this guy calls again the other day, named "Ryan" with an Indian accent. He asks for Laverence (pronounced LAV-VER-REN-SAY) and he even spells it out for me. So I say, he's not here, there's no such person. He says "ok so sorry, we'll try later" and I say "[***] you!, no, you won't try later, don't ever call here again." he says "well is Laverence there?" and I say "[***] you, I'm going to go over there and chopped you [***] head off if you call again". I hang up...

2 seconds later, he calls me from a blocked number and says

"Have you seen your mother lately? [***]" and then hangs up...

Just got a call on my answering machine from these jerks.  I found the comments, then reported them to the do not call registry.  I called them back to stop calling me, and it turns out they have dug up something under my maiden name.  I would not confirm nor deny who I was.  When I asked him to tell me what it was about he said is this (name).  I said again, will not confirm nor deny it is that person.  I said what is this regarding. "This is confidential information" and he wouldn't release it.  I told them to stop calling and hung up on him.Do not believe anything they say!

I just received a nasty letter claiming that my deceased mother-in-law owed money for ambulance service fives years ago. At that time her estate paid all outstanding debts including medical and funeral expenses. Now these thieves somehow obtained enough information to go fishing for a payment years later for services never received.

Getting calls from these clowns again - always to my cell phone which is set to ignore calls not in my phone book.  So it goes to voice mail without even ringing and I don't bother calling back.  This has happned periodically over last couple of years - a flurry of these ridiculous calls and false claims (I owe no one anything and never have used an ambulance in my life), then they go away for several months.  I filed complaints because my number is on DNC list, but you should know that the federal  govt is pretty much worthless when it comes to enforcement against twits like BAC.  Nothing will be done.  So, either block the calls and/or sue and/or report them to California AG and county DA.

My son was in an accident 4-1/2 years ago.  The bill for the ambulance was submitted through medicaid to the ambulance company and as far as I know it was paid.  The statue of limitations on Medicaid or Medicare is 1 year so even if it wasn't paid he does not owe the money; and in Colorado it is 4 years for any unpaid medical bills.  Every state has its own laws.  If the State Attorney General is not helping or the Federal Trade Commission is no help either as the one person above is stating, maybe we should get together and do a class action suit and give these people the harassment back that they are giving us.  I just pick up the phone and hang it back up.  I don't even talk to them any more.  But it is a pita.

Indian guy has been calling my mom for the past two years. It's annoying the hell out of me as it seems that he targets people who don't know that much english, based on their name. He'll fish for information to 'collect for an overdue ambulance bill'. Asked for my social security number over the phone but I've got to give him props-he even set up a recording that sounds like people are working in the background. I asked for his name and he wouldn't give it to me, maybe because he forgot what he initially called himself but he gave his company name as Flextronics. That, apparently, is some kind of computer and electronics company. watch out for this scammer

I used an ambulance one time about 5 yrs ago.  In Sacramento, CA.  I had no insurance and was unemployed.  My lack of payment showed up on my credit report.  I In the past year I've been making small payments to Bay Area Credit Corp.  Despite my written request for them not to call me I still get calls from them.  Often times it's a man with a thick East-Indian-sounding accent.  Yesterday and today my cell phone showed 6 calls from them.  I never answered.

These guys have been calling me for a nontstop 3 motnhs now,,its really bugging me and i reported them to my phone company..they tried to block them and couldnt..it is some indian guy named Mr.EDison...

once upon a time (a month back) i used to get a lot of calls from this number.  they kept asking for "andrea".. well i'm not, nor do i know anyone called andrea.. so i told them that I'm not her and that i keep getting calls from this number and i want it to stop.. a few minutes later i got a call from a man who was probably a manager or something.. and he asks if i'm sure i'm not "andrea" (wtf?!)... anyways, i confirmed and he said "ok, we'll take u off our calling list".. i said thank you as politely as i could at that moment.. well, the next day i get a call from the same number and I answered it to start yelling at them.. all i could hear is a girl crying (or moaning but i prefer to think she was crying).. then she hangs up and thats it.. never heard from them again.. the end..

I received the same thing:  calls at 8pm and they just hang up.  I did some online research and found their contact information, which is below.  I also reported them to the National Do Not Call Registry. Call or email them back and see how they like it!

I have been getting calls from these folks since 2002. They call my cell phone 3 to 9 times a day. The bill they are trying to collect is a $60 ambulance bill that was paid to Kaiser. The $60 is the shortfall after kaiser's coverage.
I just yesterday spoke to them and explained that 1. i didnt owe this bill and 2. this is 2 years beyond the statute of limitations. I got 6 collection calls to my cell phone after that conversation.  I am in the process after calling the consumer hotline in SF of sending them a certified letter telling the to cease calls on this debt as it is disputed and beyond the statute but I dont think these jerks care. ( I have the ring taken off of their number on my cell phone and i just get a bleep for missed call and an id of %#@*&$ (you get the idea)
