Another Angry Parent - 10 May 2008
They called and said my son (knew his name) had shown interest in SAT prep material at either a college fair or on the SAT, and tried to sell me an online help program at a special price of $149.00 (reg. price $349.00) Results were guaranteed and he could use the program for 2 years. When  I inquired about the company, Lolita, the sales person, said that they were part of the SAT and a non profit educational organization. After I said that we needed to research it further,  she gave us a different phone number to call back, 888-260-4306, even though my caller ID listed 866-490-3109. Upon researching the site on the web, I came across the other complaints listed here.....and for that I thank all of you. I hope that my additional comments will help some one else as well.

They called and spoke very softly asking for my sons parents and then said my son had expressed an interest in some prep package for the SAT or ACT. I didn't have to hang up on them, they hung up on me. Wierd scam call.

Caller asked to speak to the parents of... They knew my daughters name and our address.  The caller claimed that he had obtained our information from a pre test for the ACT that my daughter recently took.  He claimed he was calling from American Education Foundation and offered the website address.  I asked him for a phone number for a return call he provided 1-800-260-4306, which belongs to Gulf Imports.  He stated that the CD has a 30 day free trial, but needed the credit card to secure this.

Well spoken caller asked for XXXXX's parent.  He stated my child had checked interest in SAT/ACT prep at a college fair, which is possible.  Described deep discount on program and free 30 day trial. He advised they don't take call backs on the product discount line so there is no way for me to reach him. When I objected to giving my credit card number to unknown caller, he said I could check with my bank to verify AFTER the call.  I checked out website then googled and found this comment page.  I returned to "Dominic" on the phone, said I wanted to discuss with my husband and would like him to call back.  He stated that is what the 30 day trial is for and he had given me plenty of time to decide.  When I thanked him for the call and said I would not be purchasing today the call was ended.

Additional comments:  Several attempts to call back the 866 # resulted in "all agents are busy."  He had provided a tax ID# of 392066831 and said purchase would be tax deductible.

They called  my parents saying that I had requested their program, when I hadn't.  They charged my parents $150 and labeled it as a "Donation" on the receipt.  They said we have 30 days to return it but we just got it yesterday and we're calling American Express to try to get our money back.

They just called.   When I told them I would have to call them back, they hung up on me.  I complained to the "do not call" registry.

They call several times a week asking for the parent of ___________.
They are told every time to not call again, however they continue to call.
Kathy - 6 Jun 2008
I received a call last week from a very aggressive salesman, who seemed very eager to have me put this wonderful study guide program on my credit card, guaranteed my daughter a particular score on her SAT or they would refund my money --and hung up on me when I asked for more information.  I wonder how he got our phone number which is unlisted, and my daughter's name.
won't be fooled again - 17 Jul 2008
I was actually stupid enough to buy these materials.  They called while my daughter was out of town (spring break) and said she requested them.  They lied and said there was a 30 day free trial for online assessment, but I wouldn't be charged unless she signed on.  She NEVER signed on and they have billed me 3 months in a row.  No one would respond to the phone calls messages I left, the emails I sent or my written correspondance.  I filed a dispute with my CC company and they are taking care of it.  After I filed my complaint with the CC company, someone from AES left a message that they were cancelling future charges and we would receive 3 months for free...as if I would want that.  DO NOT BUY ANYTHNG FROM THESE PEOPLE..THEY ARE A FRAUDULENT COMPANY.

I was told the information was on a trial basis for 2 months. Within 7 days there was a debit for $199.95 and a NSF for $75.00 I expect a full refund of both. This don't appear to be a "At No Cost Trial Period" to me.
