UCB, collections company, caller ID, comes up blank, no number. called them back, had to ask 3 times who are they.

Call came through "Unknown Caller" of which we have been getting multiple calls daily but they never identify themselves on the answering machine or leave a message.  12/12 11:55a failed to identify themselves by name or company leaving a number similar to the one below.  they asked for me or my husband and the only legitimate debt we have jointly is our mortgages.  I have a good idea who this is and they have a bad reputation online and have already been notified in writing certified mail not to call here.  Man caller on this message said "I don't want to have to call friends and neighbors or I will just get you on that job"  I recorded the message from my answering machine and will report it to the authorities, as this call was definitely in violation of identification requirements for debt collectors and was definitely meant to harass.  I intend to fully exhaust all avenues of recourse against this company and the company they represent, assuming they are calling regarding a valid debt.  Will report back when I have properly identified them and give that information.

They called me... asked if I knew a person who is my brother in laws sister, WTF?  They then told me she has not returned their calls and asked if I could deliver a message to her to call them.  I see my brother in laws sister maybe once a year!

These people called my IN-LAWS lookin for my mother.  They stated she did not live there; she was their daughter-in-laws mother, and gave them my number.  Apparantly they felt the need to embarrass - they proceeded to tell my mother-in-law that my mom was in financial trouble, and they just wanted to help before 'this got out of control'.  Why all the details to someone far removed?!?!   This goes beyond inappropriate, not to mention RUDE!!  I will be filing a complaint!

These people called my cell phone looking for my ex-boyfriends sister, but left the message like they were calling her phone. They then proceeded to call my sisters who have never even met her. I called them to tell them they were calling people who had no contact with the person they were looking for and said they would take the number out of the file but apparently refuse to do so. Does anyone know how to take further action against this company or if there is something I can do. I do know the person however these people dont need to call 20 individuals in one day without giving the person they are looking for in the first place the opportunity to call back.

Left a message to call back. Caller, female, claimed to be from UCB. Asked for a person whose name I recognized because he formerly lived at the address, but who never had the phone number they called. Moved out of state and has passed away a number of years ago. Had a case file number. 866-559-4301 appears to be the new number for 2010 for these scammers.

I have been getting calls from this number not identifying themselves.  Hell if I'm going to call someone who doesn't leave a name or company or even what they are calling for.  Oh, and it shows up as 420 number.

Called back and had to work to get them to identify themselves.  First "it's Cathy", then "UCB", then "United Credit Bureau".  Mentioned a credit card I do not have, tried to get information out of me (birthdate, etc.) to "clear things up". I refused.  Calls keep coming, though, same pattern, various names.

Ok this time they left a name Rachael.  I looked at the caller ID after and it was 1-800-463-3339.  They left no company name.  If they would leave a company name maybe I would call them to work things out.  But at this time nooooo wayyyyyy.  :)

These people are liars and maybe scam artists.  They called here for my son regarding a debt.  Problem is my son was killed in a car accident on September 21, 1994.  I called their number back with the reference number.  They transfered me until I got a woman on the telephone.  I told her that I did not appreciate their call for my deceased son.  She tried to say that they never called me.....unfortunately for them I have their number on my caller ID and the message on my Charter voice mail.  I will be pursuing these people now.  Any mother who has had to bury a child should not have to come home from a day at work to this scam!

Company keeps calling me, and the individual that they are looking for doesn't live here.

United Collection comes up on the caller ID. They have called many times and since my husband and I don't carry any debt whatsoever, I figured they were suspicious/fraudulent and never answered. Today they finally left a voicemail. Someone named Stephanie at extension 48824 is looking for my husband's ex. Sheesh! They divorced 20 years ago! And since they had no children, they have had absolutely no contact in all that time. How this "agency" got my husband's current info is scary. We're not going to track her down for them! Sounds like United Collection is willing to harass anyone remotely connected to the debtor.

Ah ha. I just read all the previous posts and I stand by my original assessment. These are grifter/scam artists. They are apparently expert at collecting info and using that to harass and embarass someone into believing their scam. There is no way this is a legitimate collection agency!
