Got a call from a guy saying he was from a collection agency (Simm Associates), verified my address & said I owed Qwest $82 and change from a 2009 bill. I've had Qwest for over a year and I'm current on my bills, told him that.  He said a bunch of crap about a split between DirectTV and Qwest being the source of the bill & that I have been sent repeated notices in the mail about it.  I told him I haven't recieved any of that  & I didn't trust him, he said I should pay my bill, got kind of rude & said he would list me as 'refusal to pay' and continue the collection process.

 Called Qwest, they talked to DirectTV and said I don't owe them anything, my account is up to date. Scam collectors?  I do not have a common name & they had the right address.  Maybe they hacked a website to get my info.

Called them back, sat on hold for over 20 minutes before giving up.

Collection Agency called Simms.  Woman calling was trying to reach former owner of my property.  Caller got very rude with me for no apparent reason.  My mistake for trying find out why she was calling my cell number to reach someone else.

got a call as well from this number at "Simm Associates" and its scary because they had way too much information for my liking. They referred to my grandfather's estate, who had recently passed away.  To top it off, they used a private phone number I had only given to 5 people! my mom called to follow up, and yes, its a big scam.

Got a call from Simm Associates with this number looking for next of kin to my deceased mother. Told them the next of kin is my father. Did not give them his number. But sounds like they will acquire it regardless. Thanks for info. will warn my father that this is a scam.

Just received a call from 8665729374  said they werer calling for Capital One Bank about a credit card debt my deceased mother owed for over $6000 and I had until monday to resolve the situation by paying them $4000. or they will go to court and put a lien on the house. Jenna the person I spoke to never said the name of the company she was with. I found out the company name after i searched online.

That is basically the same thing that happened to us. They called about my son's estate and saying he had a bill with them that was in collections. Thing is that he passed away almost two years ago and there was nothing in his paperwork about this bill nor have we heard from them prior to this. The same here when it comes to our number only a few people have it and it is listed under our name not our sons. The estate is settled so there is nothing they can do other then harass us but turning their name and number to our lawyer and letting him deal with them.

Got a call from this number on my home phone (my husband talked to them) and my cell phone - I took the call.
Lady gave the name of a former employer that had passed away almost 2 years ago that I worked for almost 20 years ago & asked if I knew any next of kin because they were trying to settle his estate.  I didn't know any information and didn't give her any information.  I told her if she could send me an email with her contact info & I could remember anything - I would get back in touch with her - I was in my car driving and couldn't write anything down.   She told me that they are not allowed to communicate via email and she abruprtly got off the phone with me.  

I received a call from them on Wednesday regarding my deceased grandfather, looking for his next of kin.  Well, the problem here is, biologically, he had no next of kin.  I was a granddaughter by marriage.  He married my maternal grandmother but they had no children of their own.  And when he died, he had an attorney as executor of his estate so they should have gotten everything handled.  Based on what I'm reading above, I'm certain it's a scam and I will NOT call back now.

I received a voice message from caller (Camille Nickerson) from this number saying she was looking for the next of kin for a deceased relative of mine. My relative died with no estate - no home, no car, no job.  You can't get blood from a stone. Thank you for posting the info on this phone number, I'll not waste my time calling this collection agent back!

Same thing. Got a call from Mr. Wood at this company listed above, regarding talking to someone about my late aunt. I almost wish he dared bringing up that pain so I could curse the nights he tries to find peace in his evil existence to support a company who scans those who are in mourning; but, thankfully I didn't answer and I remain a better person who just won't call back.

My sister actually got the call, which is disturbing, because her number was NEVER associated with my father at all!  I was his POA.  All of his debts have been settled or written off.  I know this, because I made the calls myself!  He did not have an estate, and all debt dies with a person!  Their number will be blocked in my and all my siblings phones!  What kind of people prey on the families of dead people?  This is a disgusting SCAM!

Calling on behalf of my deceased father wanting to speak with someone regarding estate matters. LOL !!!! How did they get my number? It was never crosslinked with my dad.

Didn't recognize the number so I let it go to voicemail. Caller identified himself as Eric Strong, looking for the person handling the affairs of my deceased father in law. Did not identify his company. Left a phone number and reference number.

My phine has never been connected to anything of my FIL and I will not be responding.

These people called my mother and left a message asking for the person in charge of my father's estate to call.  The caller said her name was Patty Banks and gave a reference number.  My mom would have lost it if she had answered the phone to this person.  I can't believe the vultures that exist in this world.

These people left me a message also asking for the person in charge of my father's estate to call. Very unprofessional, sounded like a scam.  The caller said her name was Stephanie Moore and gave a file number. Out of curiosity I called later in the evening not expecting to get an answer to see what company was calling my home.  Someone answered mumbling the name of the company and when I tried to verify what was said they became very evasive.  Would not give any details about the company when questioned, but wanted me to answer their questions.  Strongly advised them to remove my number from their list.

Called about deceased member of family to unrelated private phone number, on a Holiday at 7:39 am. Seemed like a scammer call to me, as I have not given my number to anyone! BEWARE

A debt collector for an estate account..

Received calls two days in a row (went to voicemail) from this number from a thing named Rose Lang
who said she wanted to speak to the person that handled the estate of my late husband.  Funny, she has a number but not enough respect-- *NO SHE DOESN'T*-- to ask by name for a call back with some bogus file number about a "probate" matter. Dummy doesn't know that this state has a 4 yr filing period, so I know she's scamming. I'll be reporting them to the State Attorney General's office, the local news ScamWatchers as well as my legal counsel.  I've blocked the number as well as informed family members to do the same. I can tell by her voice, she likes to intimidate people into paying money, but she dialed the WRONG NUMBER this time. thanks for the info everyone!!!

got a call  said they were from simm and wanted me to pay off my deceased husbands cr card   got nasty and said I had no right to "hide his money and not pay the bills "  if I had no money how did I bury him   told him the call was over and he got very nasty
