not sure who called. they called my work number first and didn't say anything. no dial tone, so someone was there. then not 5 minutes later my cell rang with the same number.  i answered as well and no sound, no breathing, no dial tone.

I don't have a wachovia account.  this number just left a text msg on my phone saying that they had Good News and asked me to return their call.  It's probably some "free-ish" vacation scam or David's Bridal/Men's Warehouse.  I went to a Bridal show last month - ever since - I've been getting all kinds of strange calls.

Every time a person opens a bank account they give their home number, sometimes a work number. VERY RARELY do they update the phone information when they change their number or change jobs. So the bank has the same information for years. When your account is overdrawn, the only contact info the bank has is what the account holder signed up for. Often times it is an old number, so the bank ends up contacting someone else, unfortunately. Pick up the phone...say it's a wrong number so it can be removed. Simple as that. I would think it would be much more easier to do that than to go online, look up the number, post a comment, and check on responses.  "Hello is so-n-so there?"  No you have the wrong number.
That took about 5 seconds to type. I bet on the phone it would be about 2 seconds.

yeah hi there guys i was just curious and googled this number i actually work for this place im one of the people calling you lol the hangup with no sound? thats our horrible phone system dropping calls. calling a million times a day? this numb is the main wachovia numb and they have like 7 diff offices that dont share notes cuz theyre scattered around the country sorry. and we ask for your info before we share because if we go spreading your sensitive information its against the law and we can personally get sued as well as lose our jobs  0.o   and yes i do work for wachovia bank well sort of im outsourced from another company who signs my checks but wachovia makes the rules and im in their employee database    a lot of local branches dont know this and are staffed with uninformed people working for their hourly sum. thus they say we're a scam. oh and wachovias computer systems SUCK so when we take out a number it doesnt stay gone 0.o and it takes foreva to update with the most recent changes.   so sory  but next time we call we realy are trying to help you keep wachovia drom reporting you to a credit bureau so go easy on us we all gotta make a living :-P
